Rosemary, contentment and fun at Starbucks

- Realizing I have everything for my stew except dried rosemary, but remembering there is a rosemary bush that the condo owner downstairs planted a couple of years ago.  (I have an open invitation to pilfer at will.) Is it still there?  Yes it is.  I clip a little, take the knife and cutting board to it and in several minutes my home smells fragrant from a slow cooking stew.   And my fingers smell awesome.

- A chocolate dipped strawberry and a glass of red wine.  Pure contentment.

- Starbucks drive thru window employee, as I drive up to the window to get my latte:  "Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp or George Clooney?"
Me:  Thinking for a second.  "George Clooney." (Sorry Scarlet.)
Starbucks drive thru window employee:  "Congratulations!  George Clooney wins!  Your vote has put him over the top!"
Me:  "What does he win?"  (Giggles from other employees inside as SDTWE hands me my latte.)
Starbucks drive thru window employee:   "The support of the entire Starbucks staff."  (And a new Label for my blog - see below.)

This is why it's important to get out and vote! :-P

I love fresh rosemary. I was so pleased when I found that it overwintered here. (That never would happen back in NY!)
#2 sounds heavenly.

Yep, I'd vote for George Clooney, too. Yum, rosemary... for remembrance. :)

I LOVE the smell of rosemary...it's one of my favorites. If I could, I'd smell like it constantly.

My starbucks experiences are never quite that fun!

That's the kind of voting I like! :)

Leonora -

#2 was heavenly and there was some brie, too. Yum. Book club food - can't beat it.

I'm amazed that rosemary doesn't die, in spite of the frost. This year I'm going to have some potted basil outside my front door, so I don't have buy it.

Love him - he has a little twinkle in his eye, which I find appealing.

I had forgotten rosemary was for remembrance.

Snaggle -

That's a great idea with the lavender. I meant that you should look down at the labels / tags when I said See below.

Joanne -

Don't you love the way it smells? I cut too much and have it in a glass on my counter - it smells so good.

The guy said they had been doing polls like that all day. The one before was JFK or FDR? He said FDR won. (There's an "old money" neighborhood around there and I imagine that's what is swinging the vote.)

Isn't it nice to use fresh herbs?
:-) Lynn~ You could plant a box herb garden on your porch/balcony....Just a thought.

I would do that, but it is in shade most of the day. The only things that do well on the porch back there are shade plants. That's why I have to do the blooming things out front.

Ha ha, we are finding the whole drive thru experience a novelty at the moment. Especially the bank. We feel so lazy not getting out of the car. I wonder if they'll ever catch on in the UK!

Wow, Lynn, that Rosemary bush is massive. Maybe you can persuade the condo owner to let you plant a community herb garden somewhere where it's sunny.

Yum, rosemary. I put sprigs of lavender in the linen closet and, if I have any, a few drops of lavender oil on my pillowcases as I make the bed. It seems to help me sleep too.

"And my fingers smell awesome." That's a sentence that can't come up too often! And fun at Starbucks sounds hilarious. :)

I have a rosemary bush in my back yard and I often cut it, but I love the way it smells on my hands and I've been known to rub some on my neck!

Lynn, thanks for the visit and comment. I hope, not that you can make your own decisions, that you will revisit some Cayce books. They are fascinating reading - even though they are not easy to plow through.

We are lucky. It's very warm here right now and we've got spring flowers already.

I drove through there again yesterday and those guys were having a funny discussion among themselves - it's the fun Starbucks.

Joe -

Yes - there's even a place near my house where you can drive up and get milk and bread, etc. A mini-convenience store.

Laura -

I wonder if that needs cutting back? Love the thought of that community garden - there's one up the street from me. I think I'll just do the basil in pots again this year.

The Elephant's Child -

When I went back to college in early 2000 - I talked to a school counselor about test anxiety. I had it bad. She told me to buy some lavender oil and put a few drops on my wrist to calm me during tests. She said I could just run my fingers through my hair for a surreptious whiff of it. And it worked. :)

Riot Kitty -

Hehe - I like that line, too. :)

Judy -

I do love the way it smells, too. And I'll think about those books again sometime.

Sandie -

George just has so much personality. Love him.
