Vincent, Zen and day is done

- Loved the message on this card sent by a friend a few weeks ago.  Vincent certainly knew a thing or two about living.

- A one-eyed dog barks at me through the glass panel next to a front door as if he is supposed to.  But when I enter, Zen is all wags and smiles.

- The pub around the corner from my home is not especially caught up in Valentine's Day madness except for offering burgers and fries half price.  So I end my day with the bleu cheese and bacon burger.  Cholesterol on a plate, but it was delish.

Welcome back, Lynn. I thought the post about your mom's slippers was very sweet. And the blue cheese burger sounds delicious!

Ahhh, we all need a little cholesterol! Part of a well balanced diet.

LOVE that Vincent sentiment. We Do need to be daring in life to get the most out of it. No bare-cliff rock climbing or parachuting for me tho. Just getting up on stage and singing!! That's enough. :) :)

That is a beautiful message.

It's nice NOT to have to be caught up in the Valentine's madness :)

Zen - what a great name for a dog!

Leonora -

Thank you - it's good to be back. That burger was very good. :)

Jannie -

I think so, too. Back to my mostly vegetarian ways today though. I had vegan lentil chili for lunch.

I'm with ya on that scary daring stuff. Singing on stage is scary, too, though. I would think.

Talon -

I think so, too. Isn't that a great name? He was very Zen after the barking was over.

Adam -

You have a nice day, too.

I'm sort of emotionally weary, but I'm doing OK. Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you - it's good to be back. :)

I'm reading a library book called "Van Gogh's Women", an account of Van Gogh's wildly varied and socially inappropriate relationships. The man may have been a complete loon, but he was also a genius, to be sure. :-)

That burger sounds wonderful.

Love that card and quote, and VVG inspires me for some odd reason (as mixed up as he was, he was brilliant, too!).

There's no better time to stop counting calories (and not worry about cholesterol) than on Valentine's Day. Glad you enjoyed your "happy meal." :)

A dog named Zen! That sounds like a book, doesn't it? That is a great quote also, isn't it?

I loved the Vincent quote and the dog named Zen has claimed my heart. Thank you.

Was VanGogh expressing living when he "dared" to cut off his own ear?

So a one-eyed dog names Zen...You find it all don't you?

Okay that burger sounds good but have you ever had one with Caesar Dressing? That's yummy too.

I love that card! Definitely a great one to get.

Sparkling Red -

I'll put that book on my list - I'll bet it's a good read.

FB -

So good.

Scarlet -

That was a card from a thoughtful friend - I loved it, too.

Yes - my feelings exactly on V-Day. No worrying about calories.

John -

It's not for every day, but fun sometimes! Blessings to you, too, my friend.

Sandie -

Gotcha.

Riot Kitty -

Yes - a wonderful quote! A Dog Named Zen does sound like a good book title. Hmmm.

The Elephant's Child -

I love that Zen claimed your heart - that makes me smile.

Granny Annie -

I don't know - I think he had some issues for sure.

Yes - I do find good things. :)

Caesar dressing on a burger - that does sound good. That night the featured burger had crawfish and hollandaise sauce on it. I'll try the caesar dressing sometime.

Joanne -

That friend always sends great cards.

Good quote, n it sounds like Zen was just doing his "alert!" job. I know other dogs who always bark until you pet them-
Who doesn't like bacon n cheeze on a burger? I eat those on occassion- n always have the "I shouldn't" thought- It's definately worth the flavor-fest!

Snaggle -

I've had "I shouldn't" moments all week - but I partially made up for it by eating the lentil soup from the freezer for lunch every day. :)
