Wonderful, cherry pie song and wee visitor

- A delightful lunch on Wednesday at The Bone Garden Cantina with a delightful client.  We both love the food at this place, whose entrance is marked by a sombrero wearing, guitar playing skeleton.  She shares with me the news that she is going to be an aunt for the first time. We are very different in age, but have similar personalities.  And as we talk about the wonders of being an aunt, we both tear up.

- Stopping by the fun Starbucks at Peachtree Battle Shopping Center on Thursday for a latte and in an impulse at the drive thru - a little cherry tart.  The young man sings a little cherry pie song to me as he hands it out the window.  I would have taken a picture of it, because it was so cute, but it was gone in two bites.  :)  Yum.

- A wee granddaughter visits the printing company with her grandpa for the day.  She is very shy, but loves to come there for the day with him.  When she comes to say goodbye, I ask her if she has any games at home.  "I have Chutes and Ladders!" she says.  We plan for her to bring that next time so we can play.

I hope good things happen to you this weekend, my friends!  Have a great one!

Restaurant looks like a fun place. What does that metal sign say?

I don't know a cherry pie song. Will you sing it for us please?

Children's days visiting parents or grandparent's offices fill some of their lifetime favorite memory banks. I know you add to those memories by your special treatment of the kids.

I'm glad there is a cherry pie song. Sweet that being an aunt can move you so. This reminds me, I need to send a graduation card to my niece. :)

That is an adorable story about the cherry pie song! And yes, I root you sing it for us, too ;)

Granny Annie -

The Lumberyard Lofts. This very cool complex off Ellsworth Industrial Blvd used to house a lumber yard. :)

Here's the chorus lyrics to the Warrant song:

She's my cherry pie
Cool drink of water such a sweet surprise
Tastes so good makes a grown man cry
Sweet Cherry Pie

He just sang that first line twice. :)

Thank you - it's a treat for us when she comes in, too.

Since I didn't have children of my own, I adore my four nieces, one nephew and one great niece. :)

Riot Kitty -

See above. I'll be singing that all day now. :)

Oh...every time I hear "cherry pie", I remember the time when I was 12 and I got the flu right after I'd gorged on my aunt's homemade cherry tarts. Still can't eat cherry pie to this day though it was always my favorite before. :(

Hope you have a gorgeous and glorious weekend, Lynn!

Cherry pie or cherry tart - I can understand why it didn't last long enough to pose for a photo. :-)

Teary eyed Aunties at the Cantina- Being an aunt is always fun, even getting roped into babysitting.
I've got 8 nieces n nephews, only 1 still under 18.
I eat Cherry things like preserves n juice every day. Bet I'd like those tarts-
Nice of you to offer playing a game while Grampa is busy working. My Little Ones have a game piece loss problem usually!

Can he bake a cherry pie Lynnie Girl, Lynnie Girl Can he bake a cherry pie, darling Lynnie.

Now, did you recognize the tune and sing it?

:)

LOL on Talon's comment.

Maybe that skeletel guy could be programmed with a redording device within so you'd hear him singing... "Bones in your backyard..." Or maybe not!

Have a fab. weekend!

xoxo

recording, not redording. :)

Cherry Pie song as he hands the cherry tart, brought a mile to my face picturing the scene :-) Where can I hear it? unless he composed it impromptu.

Chutes and Ladders! should be fun. Will await to see pics of the playday.

That is too bad that happened, because cherry pie is such a treat. :) At least to me.

Sparkling Red -

Yeah - that's something I could always eat. :)

The Elephant's Child -

Not something I often see on restaurant menus anymore, but they always seem to have them already made at the grocery stores here.

The busiest Starbucks I've ever seen, I think. And the staff there always seem to have a joke or a song. :)

Hilary -

Thank you - sometimes I sit in front of the computer and have to remember the good things and I was almost stumped until I remembered wee Aubrey's visit.

Snaggle -

I think you must have some good baked goods around you.

Leonora -

Completely fun. :) Hope your weekend is good, too.

That was just a nibble to go along with my coffee. :)

Another good cherry pie song! And your Bones song would be perfect playing around that Bone Garden man. :)

I'm glad you could see it. Here's a link to the Warrant song - the Starbucks guy didn't sing but the first line twice though. :)

I'd like to hear the cherry pie song too. :D

I'm sure I've seen the skeleton before. Was it on your blog?

Yes - I confess I've posted that picture before.
