Catching a few notes, the bend of the river and finally finished

- Thanks to the US Founding Fathers, I got a long weekend, so headed to my sister's Nantahala mountain retreat for a few days.  There is no internet service in that spot, so I have to come into town to email, etc. from my phone.  I love that they display the flag on the gazebo, where bands play every Friday night.  When I was passing by on my way in last Friday, I rolled my window down and caught a few notes of the bluegrass music the band was playing.

- My favorite nonagenarian farmer, Mr. Martin, was busy all day Saturday and on Monday working his crops.  He is a slight man, who always wears an ironed, long-sleeved shirt and a large, white cowboy hat when he is working.  He has always had that farm across the river and it never ceases to amaze me that he has so much energy to keep on doing it.

- Back in Atlanta this morning, I noted the mural on the building across the street from my workplace is finally finished.  The window company has moved out of the building, so we are looking forward to seeing who our new neighbors, who commissioned this artwork, will be.

Mr Martin sounds amazing. All power to him. I hope he can continue for a long time to come.

Relaxing shots.

So how does the guy keep his white cowboy hat clean if he's a farmer!

I'm glad to see the finished mural on the building. I'm not sure what I think about it, but it's very eye catching for sure!

Lots to think about. I hate being without internet and it is a good thing you can enjoy the countryside but have a place to find Wi Fi. Peaceful river. Are we supposed to be able to see Mr. Martin? Be sure an let us know what goes in the corner.

Elephant's Child -

Me, too - he also has cancer of the bladder. I have no idea how he is still going.

Lady Fi -

Thank you!

Joe -

His farm is small and there was someone helping him a little.

That's a skyline on the far right. I called there and the woman who was with the window company told me they were moving and she had no idea who was moving in. I'm hoping it's something awesome. :)

Granny Annie -

It's probably a good idea for me to not be fiddling with my phone for a couple of days, but I do like checking in with my life when I go into town. :)

No - that's the edge of his property on the shores of the river on the opposite side of the photo. He wasn't out there on Sunday - he keeps the Sabbath, I imagine. I just thought the river shot was pretty.

I figured you'd head to the river. I so miss live bluegrass I used to go hear in the 70's around here. Used to go to festivals. Still have my instruments, only wrote one in that style so far tho. Plus a few country which don't count as bluegrass. Hmm, wonder what upper Westside will sell? Great mystery, n nice

A nonagenarian farmer! I'm impressed. I think it's a good idea for people to keep working as they age, although not necessarily 40 hours per week. A little bit of work, balanced with rest, does one good.
