October rose, singing and the times

- This lovely rose in neighbor Beth's courtyard, asserting its right to bloom in October.

- Hearing someone on the other side of the wall singing. Such a happy sound.

- From the Tucker Times, laying on my desk at home for days, this catches my eye: The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects the wind; the realist adjusts the sails.

I like that quote, the realist is my partner. I'm the pessimist. No one like a whinger.

Joe -

"Whinger" is a new word for me - I had to look up. :) I think I am more of a realist with some optimism thrown in.

Maybe the last for sure.

That little neighborhood newsletter has been on desk because I wrote a note on it. And that printed quote within has jumped out at me all week. A great one!

I love the juxaposition of the rose with the stone of the wall...and I love the rose's optimism!

Wonderful quote...and in the midst of all of those is me :)

I used to tend that rosebush after my neighbor Tom passed away - so I come back to visit now and then to see if it remembers me. :)

Optimism - a good thing.

Lynn,
I love the Tucker Times message. So true..

It looked like filler, but caught my eye. I think it is true, too.

Beautiful picture. Interesting - I was debating the whole realist/pessimist/optimist thing yesterday. Is it possible to be more than one at a time?

Riot Kitty -

I think it is possible - sometimes so much is thrown at us all at once that it makes it difficult to be an optimist all the time.

Blue Bunny -

They were singing "Jimmy Crack Corn and I don't Care."

Yes - my cool friend Joe is British. Good to see you BB. :)

Someone singing is a happy sound :)
And another beautiful pic :)

Thanks Cookie! Hearing someone sing when they think no one is listening is so wonderful - it sounds so happy.

Roses are a great mood lifter, along with singing- tho I like to be the one singing with no audience-

The artist has hung up many wind-chimes (like mine)

I love wind chimes, too.
