Stretch, rain and delicious ambiguity

- Mr C's celebrated Columbus Day with the usual Monday accouterments and a bit of a stretch of the imagination. :)

- Rain, rain, and more rain. I like waking up in the middle of the night to light rainfall. And making a plan to go by the nearby Wednesday afternoon farmers market after hearing that too much rain has hampered farmers efforts to get fall crops planted and too many cloudy days have slowed growth down for those crops that have have planted.

- A lovely quote on my FranklinCovey planner this week: Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. - Gilda Radner

Lynn, you'll have to meet the person behind those signs. They would be delighted to know how much entertainment they provide!

Like you, I find the sound of rain is really soothing when you're sleeping.

I loved Gilda Radner. She's right - it's the not knowing that makes life interesting.

I know - I've never been in there. Maybe it'll be meatloaf next Monday. If nothing else I am giving them free advertising. :)

It made me so happy to wake up and hear the rain, but also to see that it was about 1:30am - a long time to go before getting up.

Gilda was a brave woman - I loved that quote.

Wow I think you are having more rain than the UK at the moment! That's saying something!

That is a good quote.

Joe -

I think it is supposed to stop by Saturday. I visited the UK a few years ago and it did rain most of the time we were there. I kind of like rain though.

Dear Gilda Radner. What a sweetie. Another fun one who died way too young.

We have been singing the old "rain rain" song around here too a LOT lately. Bit of a reprieve here today tho.

Wish it would snow! I could go for that!

You can lead a horse to water..
But a pencil must be lead!

Raining here, too!

Jannie -

We don't get to see snow much either. I quite love it when it does. :)

G-man -

Thank you - I am flattered that you say so. And what a good quote - you gave me a big chuckle!

Blue Bunny -

Yr sekrit safe wit me.

Isn't that a great quote? It spoke to me and I kept going back to it. It's raining all over the world...

We're having a sunbreak right now - which is great, because we drove through a small tropical storm yesterday!

What a great quote, Gilda was a very brave, smart woman!
Love the sign..There's a small moving company down by the beach here and they had "2pc fish dinner with slaw. just kidding" on their sign several months ago. I had to turn around and get a pic of it!

I'm with you on the rain -- love it at night, but this quantity of it is straining my gardening plans to the limit. I hadn't thought about supporting the farmer's market especially during this time, but of course you're right. And so very thoughtful!

Riot Kitty -

It seems to be raining everywhere!

Kim -

I like crazy signs and often take pictures of them.

Meredith -

And for all my good intentions I got held up and didn't make it to that market. But I do try to support the local farmers when I can.

Who knew Columbus ate Meatloaf!?
That Sign guy is very creative!
My turnip is covered with plastic for today's cold storm.
I miss the silliness of Gilda- rest her soul- Great quote. I especially liked her "nevermind" speech about violins (violence).

That "nevermind" thing cracks me up every time. Loved Gilda.
