Midtown, called back and favorite tea

- On the way to visit a client and pausing on 16th Street to contemplate midtown Atlanta because no one was behind me for once.

- Settling down with my book in the doctor's office waiting room, but being called back right away. And having mixed feelings because I was kind of looking forward to reading the book.

- Having a lovely warm cup of redbush tea in the 5am hour while I contemplate this blog. A great way to start the day!

You picture of midtown Atlanta looks like something out of a SiFi movie when all the people disappeared.

If you had not had your book with you in the doctor's office, you would have had to wait an hour.

Ah, the delicious aroma of the tea in your kick off for a new day.

Granny Annie -

It does look kind of like that. Good eye! And you are right about the doctor's office.

lol - Murphy's Law at play on the waiting game.

Looks like you had the city to yourself - neat!

Beautiful view of midtown Atlanta! I should photograph the Miami causeway...you'd like it!

I know what you mean about wanting to start reading a book and being distracted. It breaks the mood, doesn't it? Sometimes I can't get back into it once I've been pulled away.

Btw, I always start my morning with a hot café con leche and some blogging. It is a great way to start any day!

I have all kinds of nostalgia and emotion seeing that photograph. You got a great shot, Lynn. And I can't imagine no one was behind you on 16th. ;) What luck!

(Granny Annie totally has a point. It looks a bit eerie.)

What book was it? I'm curious now...

Sorry no poem,
for something seems wrong
There were no buses or cars,
not even a bikes came along
The street was all bear,
just your camera and you
And pausing on 16th
you took a picture or two
And now you’re telling me
at the doctor’s office
You got to go right through,
tell me it isn’t true
The tea sounds good
but at 5am it’d have to be
Double extra el-grande
black coffee for me

I know - if I hadn't taken the book, I'd have been reading a dog-eared copy of Field and Stream from 1998. :)

Ily -

I love that quiet time of morning - it's my hour to wake up gently.

Meredith -

Yes - I had 16th Street all to myself for a couple of minutes.

True Compass by Ted Kennedy.

Sage -

It's not always easy to find time to read. But I"m glad things were going so quickly at the doctor, too.

Ellis -

I don't know - seems like a pretty good poem to me. Double extra el-grande
black coffee - now that would keep you awake.

Shay -

I like to get to work early and beat traffic - and I do love the early morning.

Mama Zen -

Pretty cool, huh?

Riot Kitty -

The bad news - I'm sleepy way to early in the evening.

Indeed, a marvellous way to start the day. And I'm partial to a good cup of herbal tea, I am. :)

I developed a hot tea habit several years ago and keep coming back to it - I love Japanese tea, too.

Hot tea supposedly cools one in the summer?

Lovely looking city!!

That sure is a beautiful photo! Makes me want to visit.
I hate when that happens to my intended reading time-
I'll have to try that tea.

Jannie -

I don't know - I just like it.

Snaggle -

You should visit - don't you have a friend here?
