- A woman who works at my volunteer organization has fresh figs to share and invites me to have one. Oddly - I don't think I have ever tried a fresh fig before. It is sweet and delectable. She tells me that she likes to serve them as appetizers halved, with a bit of goat cheese on top.- A media personality is filming a program called "Swift Justice" at Georgia Public Broadcasting. I ask the guards, as I am signing out, if they ever see her and they say that I just missed her. They are so accustomed to my smiling commentary on everything that they laugh out loud when I describe why I do not admire this woman. But I am pleased that the show brings revenue to GPB.
- A couple of weeks ago I was signing out at GPB and looked up to see a man I do admire waiting to sign out - Ambassador Andrew Young. I did a double take and he smiled politely. What a nice man and so nicely low key.

I've never had fresh fig - only dried ones. The fresh ones look very inviting!

My grandfather used to have a fig tree, and I highly recommend that method of getting them, Granny Annie. :) However, all good things must come to an end, and that generous old tree is no longer with us.

who was this woman you saw? Is "swift justice" a movie or TV program, I'm so out of the loop, but I know who Andrew Young is! And thinking of figs makes me hungry. I wonder if I have any fig newtons in the pantry?

You are right about that. Those guys were already a little disconcerted because they were discussing a woman's shape as she was walking up the hallway. They knew I heard them. :)

My grandparents had fig trees, too. My grandma used to make preserves and I didn't like them back then, but I'm certain I would now.
So odd to see someone like Andrew Young wearing casual clothes. He did have woman ferrying him around GPB - she walked him to his car and he drove away.

I have never had a fresh fig. But I often do give flying figs for ideas I believe in, like love, peace and theories of advanced mathematics.

Funny enough, the book I just Finished Ghostwalk by Rebecca Stott features Isaac Newtons foibles in the mid 1600s in Cambridge England...

Anyway, figs are great. I saw them at costco today. Also, I happened to crack open a jar of figs a friend canned lase year. I baked them in puff pastry with some cheese. It was delish!
