Greening up, haven and chivalry

- After all the rain yesterday, we'll probably be seeing a lot more of this. I love all the greening up.

- The Rainbow Grocery (natural foods store and restaurant) has a hot food bar with the most delicious vegetarian food. It is like a food haven for take-out at the end of a long day of work, volunteer work and driving around in the rain. Eggplant Parmesan and braised broccoli for dinner. There were braised brussels sprouts, too. A banner day.

- At the beginning of the day, I dodge puddles as I make my way around the back of my work place to go inside. The paper delivery truck largely blocks the back driveway and I have to edge around it. The driver sees and feels bad about that and jokingly offers to lay his jacket across a puddle at the stairway entrance for me. I tell him if he had actually done that, I would have written a story about it. :) And then I did anyway.

A lone mushroom, what a sign! We have none here yet~~ but when we do they are ginormous!! Looking forward to it! Lynn, if you read malaymui's blog she is on her way via airplane back to the U.S. It is interesting to read her mixed feelings about it. There is nothing happening in Japan (even Tokyo) so her business is done there (for now.) Wow. But I am certainly glad that she is safe.
Have a good day friend! :)
P.S. I find myself with an injured shoulder and a P.T. appointment and possible surgery so my blog is flying at about 60 percent . :( Bear with me!

Green it might be but asleep I did fall
Not like the toadstool, standing there tall
Veggie all hot and ready to eat
From the bar, it was all quite a treat
Puddles I hopped and scampered around
In the back door I ran, with no coat on the ground

Yes - you were ferst! I'm so glad your Jannie found you under the toad stool and also that she gives you brussels sprouts. :) Love them.

You sure are sneaky using your Jannie's email, but you have quite the different writing styles and gave yourself away!

I paused in my walk to photograph that mushroom. I hope you see those ginormous mushrooms soon!

Yes - I read Malaymui's blog post that she is leaving Japan. I left a comment that she is doing the right thing to leave since she can and her work has been put on hold anyway. I'm glad she'll be safe, too.

What did you do to your shoulder? I'm sorry to hear that you're on the DL list!

Outstanding wrap-up poem! I like it. :)

I guess not - I swear that guy would have done that. :) He's kind of my buddy anyway - we cross paths back there quite frequently.

Just think, if he really would have done it, you would've had a story AND a picture! How sweet of him to say that though. :)

About a month ago my big dog took me by surprise when she spun me around and took a leap toward a person at our front door (I was outside with her walking past the person); I held onto her leash but the traction on my shoulder was MAJOR. Since then I have steadily lost range of motion @ my shoulder; I might have a rotator cuff or some kind of tear...

Lynn,

That closing was a clincher. I loved it:~)

We haven't had any mushrooms as it's so dry right now. Lots of pollen, but no mushrooms.

As always, I enjoyed this respite of good things:~)

Green things! You're so lucky it's warm enough! that sounds like a great store to have in town- We don't even have one natural food store here! See, you are a writer, after all! Nice guy too-

That is odd that Cape Cod wouldn't have a natural foods store - an untapped market, sounds like.

Yes - he is a nice guy. He's usually there on Friday, too, so we'll have our "happy it's Friday" celebration a little later.
