- A bird condo with flexible rental space available. :)
- "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." Happy belated birthday, Dr. Seuss! (It was yesterday.)
- Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try. More from Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel). OK - I'll stop now. Long ago, the family read to me so much that I knew how to read when I entered first grade, so they put me on Dr. Seuss books and allowed me to read on my own. I've always loved his books.

He was my favorite when I was little.
Another for Seuss here! I used to read him to my Kelly Belly before she was born. And she was Theodore Geisel for her "Ghosts of the past" at school a few months ago, where the kids dress up as famous dead peeps who made positive contributions. They do a little speech in the auditorium too.
Rental space on that house, so cute. Marten house, methinks?

He must have loved children. My absolute favorite was "The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins."

I loved the gourds hanging off that bird house. :)
That is so neat that Kelly performed as Dr. Seuss! One of my favorite things was hearing that in 1985, Dr. Seuss received an honorary doctoral degree from Princeton and the entire graduating class stood and recited "Green Eggs and Ham."

Lynn~ I am a huge Dr. Seuss fan!
Bravo!! I think that he has influenced my writing...especially when I write for children or tell stories...
Dr. Seuss - I think I can recite him pefectly from memory. I'm secretly hoping to one day be blessed with a grandchild so I can share the joy he created through his words and his fabulous illustrations. :)

Dr. Seuss was the best!
What bird wouldn't love to live in one of those charming units? ;)
The little girl I tutor came home festooned with construction-paper cutouts from their school's celebration of Dr. Seuss's b-day yesterday. It immediately made me flash back to all those great favorites of childhood. But I've never read the 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins. I'm going to have to check that one out now, based on your recommendation!
So glad you're you today, Lynn. :)

I like hearing that, lg. :)

What a day that will be! I hope that for you, too.

Oooh - I like that Seuss-esque ending!

Absolutely!

That's wonderful. Bartholomew Cubbins kept taking off his hat, only to find there was another on his head, and another, and so on. Each one got a little fancier - something that "just happened to happen and was not very likely to happen again."
I still love his books. I've used a story of his in my writing group.
The bird condo reminds me of a Peanuts special where Woodstock has exactly that.
What a nifty bird thingy! I like the mobile design!
Unless you are trying to be like some one else... But a wonderful quote. I was early on my Seuss-ing- last week!
His books were great for us all. Wow, you were reading very early!

He was an exceptional writer, for sure.
That's pretty neat about the Peanuts thing. :)

You see those carved out gourds a lot down here - they make great bird nesting places.
Do you know that Dr Seuss was rejected by 83 publishers before he managed to get a friend to publish THE CAT IN THE HAT?
Just don't let the birds turn that condo into adjusted living HUD housing or you'll find the neighborhood going downhill fast:)
Granny Annie -
I did not know that. I'm sure those publishers that turned him down were sorry later. :)
