Patriotic, dance moves and old magazine

- Hairdresser Tim's lawn jockey* displays a bit of patriotism. And my camera lens definitely picks up drizzle - yesterday was the fifth day in a row of rain. Oh rain - how I at least love that you are keeping the pollen off my car. I hear we'll see the sun on Saturday. Yay!

- Enjoying the conversation between Tim and another client while I wait. They are both of Native American heritage and compete in dance competitions at pow wows. Tim demonstrates how a crouching dance move is actually easier on ones back.

- Reading an issue of Cosmo Girl from July 2006 and feeling a little entitled to criticize the magazine selection at my hairdresser's. :) (It was that or hairdresser trade magazines.) I offer to bring him some old Southern Living or Food & Wine magazines and he is aghast that his clientele will think that too pedestrian. Better than Cosmo Girl, July 2006 - I'm just sayin'.

What's wrong with Southern Living? I like it. (mail ladies know all the magazines lol)

Big ol' flag for such a little guy. :D

I would love to have rain here as they're forecasting snow tonight or tomorrow.

A five year old mag?

Gosh, I used to read so many magazines. But glad I found all these blogs, which are even better.

Ahhhh, 5 days of rain -- I could handle that. The grass is greener, eh... And literally for you with all the precipitation.

I love crouching! So great for so many muscles -- ones I didn't evenknow I had.

The lawn jockey was interesting! Trying to envision this: "Tim demonstrates how a crouching dance move is actually easier on ones back;"

Hope you do see the sun on Sat. Lynn!

I wish that we had that rain! Wildfires are a huge danger here due to the drought.

Cosmo Girl? Oh my gosh, I think I'd rather stare at a blank wall. ;-)

Magazines at hairdressers are always awful. I always take a book, in fact it's the only time I read one. :D

We've had a nice sunny week so far in the UK.

I'll bet! So people in Michigan get Southern Living? That's interesting. It is a lovely magazine though - I used to read it at my parents and then they stopped subscribing to it. I was so sad, but then my sister started giving me a subscription to it for Christmas.

I know - it sounds as if I am complaining about the rain, but I'm not really. It's unusual for us to have so much at once though.

Ellis -

I don't know too many adults who read Cosmo Girl - I'm actually surprised he had it. :)

Jannie -

Blogs do make great reading material, huh? I'm on them more than magazines for sure.

You've probably seen Native American dancing in films and seen them do that - they sort of crouch and lean in and such. He demonstrated it last night. :) I went to a pow pow at nearby Stone Mountain a few years ago and watched him perform - he wins all the time.

Mama Zen -

See - what's that about? So weird how the weather differs around the country. I don't mind the rain at all - but am beginning to feel waterlogged.

Sparkling Red -

I admit to needing entertainment while the color treatment is working its magic on my hair for a half hour or so. :) My mind ran over what might be in my car, but there was nothing else really.

Joe -

I'm glad you are having good weather. And so true about the reading material at hairdressers. :)

lol @ at the seriously out-of-date magazine! I thought my dentist's magazine selection was bad! :)

Hope you get a ton of sun this weekend. I'm hoping any more moisture we get is in that rain form. It sure beats the white stuff!

I'm loving the patriotic lawn jockey! :)

I also think a little Food & Wine wouldn't hurt the spirits of those waiting to get their hair done...it has to be better than Cosmo Girl. Geez! lol

Happy Weekend, amiga!!

I hear we may get sun in 2012 if I call upon my Apache roots and do a sun dance...

Sorry about all that rain there- alot of "orbs"
It's better than the 4 inches of snow we had followed by heavy rain to drive home from work in- Very slushy n cold. The Bourne Bridge was closed from ice accidents for a few hours-
Nice to get those free dance demos-Thanks to visiting fellow dance brothers.
Don't tell me he refused free mags! (Bring them n leave them anyway-)
Did you ask Tim if there was a "stop the rain" dance?

I have taken a book with me before, but there is so much commotion around that place that it's difficult to concentrate. Next time I'll take my own magazine.

Ily -

Maybe Food & Wine is the ticket! :) You have a great weekend, too.

Riot Kitty -

The sun came out a little in the late afternoon - I almost collapsed with joy.

Snaggle -

Hopefully that snow is on the wane - it's hard to imagine weather climates being so different.
