Our flag was still there, for another day and award

- This flag was lovingly and protectively draped over the side of the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. It now hangs at the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington DC.

- Once again, getting big news from facebook first. So this seems like a fitting day to post a picture of our flag. Oddly - my memory card became full while I was visiting a lovely organic garden yesterday and then the camera battery pack needed charging this morning, leaving those photos for another day.

- Thanks to Riot Kitty for giving me this award:

She had this to say about my blog: You inspire me to see the beautiful and pleasant in the every day, where I would usually miss them. Thank you, my friend, this is what it is all about. And I admire you for your fearlessness. (I am supposed to pass this on, but I say that all of you should get this. Just know that if I read your blog, then you inspire me.)

I actually found out what'd happened via an e-mail this morning from Riot Kitty.

Shows you how much I watch t.v.

And this will be the topic of conversation at work for the next few days as well.

Job well done.

I was just about to go to bed when I got an IM from a friend about Bin Ladin and I turned on the TV and watched for 30 minutes, till after the President spoke.

Your blog deserves this award. Well done!

Yes - I've heard lots of discussion already myself. And thank you.

Granny Annie -

Our flag was still there. I was never more proud of our country in the days following 9/11. I was thinking this morning how I didn't even want to blow my horn at anyone lest it jangle their nerves.

Thank you - the photo is the most challenging thing about my blog. I feel committed to having a photo and have mined the area around me so much that I often feel that I am running out of material.

Sage -

Thank you - it inspires me to accept good things that I see and hear around me.

Congrats on receiving the award too! It's always tough giving the award to other bloggers because you can't help but feel you are leaving someone out!

I agree with RK, I love coming here because you find such pleasure in the simplest of things in life and that is an inspiration!

You DO inspire many of us, Blog Sister! inspire, delight and always look for the best in us too. We all love you to bits!!

I heard it from Geraldo Rivera before it was actually confirmed, his hunch on the news was right. Must be psychic!

Should we be glad at the death of anyone?

Should we place ourselfs at the leavel of the ones that want to kill us?

Would you have pulled the trigger?

Can I answerer yes to any of these questions?

YES a simple yes, I could.

Beautiful flag pic! One of my co-workers got a text alert about the news n went all over the plant telling everyone "we heard it from him" first!
Sorry your cam was on holiday- I've had some missed opportunities due to that myself- feels strange to not get a good subjects pic!

You are definately an inspiration to me! Plus a very special, good thing in my day! Thanks

I was very moved by the photograph of the firefighters and soldiers hanging the flag over the wound on the side of the Pentagon. And I loved the renewed sense of patriotism that our country acquired after 9/11.
