Good place to sit, Labor Day and finally rain

- Someone put a board between these split trees, making a good place to sit. It's at the next door neighbor's house in the mountains.

- Enjoying my split time between the mountains and home for Labor Day weekend. I did not labor at anything on Labor Day, but spent the day mostly on the couch, watching the rain through the windows.

- Thankful for the rain - this is the first weekend morning in recent memory that I have not watered the outside plants at 5am. And thankful for dodging the severe weather threats that dominated TV reports in the afternoon.

It was so cool here last night that Kit-Kat actually came in for the night! He, who's been boycotting the inside of the house since Mieshka was foisted into his kingdom.

No rain, but still -- it got cool, yay!!!

That IS a cute little tree seat.

The board and those trees remind me of "The Giving Tree," a kids book by Shel Silverstein (one of my favorites!). In this case, there are two giving trees. Very nice. :)

A little rain on Labor Day can be a good thing. Hope your plants are thriving!

Enjoy the short week!!

Jannie -

I wish it would stay cool. There is a fallish feeling to the air today.

Kit-Kat will become resigned to that new kitty after a while. I snapped a picture of Cleo and Sophie cuddled up in a chair once - Cleo had been awful to Sophie before that. I guess the older kitties just don't care for spunky kittens. :)

You visited while I was typing Jannie's comment. I love that thought - "The Giving Tree." I love Shel Silverstein, too.

Thanks a lot! Now I've got to go out tromping around our woods and find a split tree to make a seat in.

"I did not labor at anything on Labor Day;" ditto here, Lynn!

Never thought I'd say this, but I would prefer rain to the temps in the 90s that we are supposed to have this week. Plus it would put out the Mt. Hood fire.

I always make plank benches out on the deck using bricks for elevation. Looks like a good spot with the river view.
You are lucky to get away for the change of scenery so often.
We'll be raining all week here. Lets hope the weather stays gentle for us all this week!

Good deal - I'm glad I wasn't alone. :)

Unusual for you, yes? It seems odd for it to be so hot there and not raining. I didn't realize about the fire - I'll have to look that up.

I am lucky that my sister's in laws bought that place so many years ago - I always think about that.
