Out of town, future chefs and rumble

A last look at summer on the first day of autumn...

- Calling a client and hearing music, chatter and tinkling sounds in the background. She says, "Do you mind calling me back next week? I'm in Barcelona."

- Students from the culinary school near home in their white chef coats, looking ghostly in the darkness as they walk from the bus to get an early morning start to their day.

- The rumble of a helicopter gliding through the darkness overhead, red and blue lights twinkling.

Sights and sounds - some from far away. I hope beautiful sights and sounds are in store for you this weekend, my friends!

I'll comment first! I didn't have a photo for today and hadn't used this one - it spoke to me this morning. So I used it as a beautiful sight. :)

It IS beautiful. And the chefs like ghosts is an amazing image.

Ooh, very atmospheric images today! I think you have set the stage for a novel, or at least a short story.

it is odd to return home as the trees are showing a hint of their fall cools--as they had just budded out good when I left. Nice threesome!

That just underscores how very long you were gone. I'm sure it was good to get back home.

What a pretty pic! Glad it spoke to you so you shared! I'd like to not be available in Barcelona myself! cool- Do you get to smell the Culinary schools goodies too?
Always pause, look up , n find where that chopper is going, don't we- They are tough to ignore. We had some circling a road accident near work during my break at night about a week ago- I do like the lights too-
Have a good week-end Lynn!

That photo IS indeed a beautiful sight. Your out of town paragraph made me wish to be in Spain, walking the streets my great grandparents walked as kids. One of these days I'll get out there, I always say. It's on my bucket list, chica.

John -

Thank you! Love that enthusiasm. :)

My credit union is in the same building complex and I've smelled good things cooking when I've walking in and out of there. You can also go there for dinner, but I've never done that.

Thank you -

And you already know the language!

How jealous did that make you to reach a client having fun in Barcelona?

Those culinary students might give some folks quite a scare. I wonder if they realize that?

We rarely hear sounds other than crickets and such but occasionally we will hear the train when the leaves are off the trees.

Granny Annie -

I was not jealous at all - it's just the way life works out. :)

I don't know - but they sure do look ghostly!

Those sounds of yours are lovely - it reminds me of home.

Damn I missed this post and the chance to wish you a wonderful weekend Lynn. Sorry, I hope it was a good one!

I could relate to tinkling sounds in the background, makes one want to guess where they are, but Barcelona would be a long shot.

I'm sure they must've left quite a few people startled walking in white.

Jannie -

I think you live in an area in which cold weather last for 15 minutes and then goes straight back to hot weather. :)

No worries - it was good and I hope yours was, too.

Barcelona - a dreamy sounding place...
