Self-portraits, traced hands and daisy festival

- Seen on the bulletin board at church - "I love my church" from young Kiera. Love all the self-portraits of her friends below it.

- A group from the church goes every year to build a house in Mexico for a family - this time for a single mother and her five children. The house is just one room, made of cinder blocks with a roof, but much better than the shed they were living in. Love the names in the traced hands.

- On Saturday, going for a walk at Stone Mountain Park and wondering why there were so many cars trying to get in there. It was the 43rd Yellow Daisy Festival with miles of arts and crafts for sale. I did that once. This day I was just content with walking while listening to music.

I love hearing about the good works that people within the church are doing. Seems that so often all we hear about is the negative side of Christianity when there are so many committed Christians doing GOOD work. :)

The daisy reminds me of the daffodil festival that they have every year up here. Lots of people and lots of traffic.

What a delicious looking daisy! tasty for the eyes.

I wonder why the one child drew that sad face for his self portrait? :) Oh well, we all get a little sad sometimes.

I SO agree with Joey. bad press sells better I guess. But I do believe much more sweet and good stuff is afoot than negative.

The Rosales' sound like beautiful souls! Like you. The high shcool kids form my old church go just across the Mexican border each year to help build homes. At least they did when I went. Juarez, I think is the town.

Joe -

Absolutely - that's the way it is in my church group anyway.

I just could not think what was going on - I had completely forgotten about the daisy festival. Fortunately - I know a back way in and managed to get parked and out walking.

I'm seeing them more in North Carolina that Georgia now.

I noticed that sad face, too - that concerns me. Or maybe Kiera drew all of her friends. I'll have to ask her - I used to hold her in the nursery at church. She's special to me and doesn't even know why. (I fired myself from that job - not good with toddler conflict.)

Our group goes in JULY - the hottest month of the year to Piedras Negras, Mexico. I like thinking of them in their precious new house.

Mahalo for coming by.

Thank you - the yellow daisies are on the wane right now, but at least they got their festival in.

No art can compare with that of a child. They tell the story best.

Walking through a park, surrounded by beauty and listening to music -- divine.

Granny Annie -

I am lucky to have so many beautiful parks around me and right now - the weather is perfect for walking.

Great pics! Nothing is better than kids art! Living is so different in other countries! My Uncle's Monks sponsor a mission in Guademala. Tough to imagine living that way. Pretty daisy pic!
