Plan B, tagalong and Bear

- The view from my front door early on Sunday morning.  I love my Sunday morning walk, but closed the door with a contented sigh after seeing that it was raining and opted for Plan B - coffee on the couch.

- Attending a dinner on Saturday evening that was nothing short of stupendous.  Friend Susan invited me to go with her to a chef's dinner she had bid on at a silent auction and won.  Six courses that took four hours before it was over.  My favorite - the grouper topped with a crabmeat stuffed squash blossom that had been breaded and sauteed.  And bananas foster for dessert.  Yummmmm.

- And knowing that we all like dogs, toward the end of the meal, the chef and his wife let the dogs inside.  One of them was a stray, a dog named Bear, who is a love.  He surfaces from under the table and looks up at me with an expectant look.  "No scraps from me, my friend."  So he settles down and lays his head on my foot and falls asleep.

Rain is such a welcome excuse not to exercise without guilt:)

Susan is a great friend to share such a prize with you.

I'm guessing Bear was wishing to go home with you.

I'm glad the dinner was as lovely as you thought it would be! I love walks too, but coffee on the couch sounds very cozy.

Earl Grey wasn't nearly as polite as that dog when my friend came over and he found out she wouldn't share her chicken teriyaki with him. After that, she tried to pet him and he literally turned the other cheek!

happygirl -

Plan B was perfect! I hope your Monday is wonderful, too.

Granny Annie -

I'll say. It's still raining today. I was thinking of walking in a mall somewhere, or milking the no exercise for one more day. :)

Yes - wasn't it nice of her to do that? She is a great friend.

And when I said that I just needed to take Bear on home with me, they said he'd probably go. But he's got a sweet life with them. They say he is the most pleasant dog ever, but fears men with ball caps. Someone abused him, I guess. Terrible to think of. And they ask people to remove caps when coming in contact with him.

Riot Kitty -

That's a cat for you - full of attitude. :) Funny.

Joanne -

He is - so precious.

Pretty amazing. I feel as if I did nothing but eat all weekend, so I just had a little fruit and cheese for lunch.

I wish I liked dogs. ;)

Wow a 6 course meal! I can't cope with 3 courses. I can only ever eat 2. But I suppose if it was over 4 hours that would make it easier.

Loving the dogs, because I am a complete softy it would have been eating out of my hand. This would have annoyed the house cats greatly when I returned home.

I left a little something on my blog for you. http://troghead.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/another-award-yay.html#axzz1xWDpPrnu

Hope you like it.

Plan B sounds quite nice in its own way, and the picture is so pretty and calm.

Sounds like the PERFECT Saturday night, and I don't know what the banana dessert is, but I'm sure it was divine! So glad you enjoyed it and got to mingle with the pups.

Nice photo, btw. LOVE it, even if it was raining.

Huge smiles here. It all sounded perfect. And there is something sooooo relaxing about a dog asleep on your feet.

Claudia -

Thank you and you have a nice week, too.

Joe -

Yes - it was spread out and the portions were small. :)

Brian -

I am a softy, too, but tend to respect the wishes of the owners when it comes to doling out scraps. :)

Thank you for giving me an award - I like your blog.

Thank you - there is something very calming about rain, I think.

Scarlet -

Bananas Foster is bananas sauteed in rum, served hot with ice cream. Double yum on that one. :)

The Elephant's Child -

There is - I am generally calm and I think that is what attracted him to me to snooze on.

Sorry you missed your walk. Your plants look happy! i cannot imagine a 4 hour meal- wonder how much it would've cost. Desert sounds good to me-
Dogs are good at being patient with people eating. I'm sure Mischief would've meowed loudly for the seafood!

Now that was definitely a Kodak moment with the dog snoozing on your feet.

I do enjoy my Sunday morning walk - a good time to reflect, but I managed to reflect from the couch, too.

I hope my plants are happy!

I'm sure - but someone would have had to stick the camera under the table. :)
