Sometimes simple is better, all smiles and crunch is good

- These flowers are a salute to Friday and the end of a looong week.  Actually they were from the baby shower for my niece Saturday before last.  Love the rocks at the bottom of the Ball jar - sometimes simple is just so much better.

- A good customer service experience at Wal-mart on Thursday p.m. vs. the bad experience on Wednesday p.m.  The young lady last night was all smiles as she picked up my online order and brought it out to me.  She was so genuinely concerned about my less than good experience the night before, that I plan to call there  this morning and commend her to the management.

- It was 8:15pm by the time I left there and I hadn't had dinner.  So I pulled through Taco Bell and got a couple of tacos.  Sometimes sitting on your couch and having a couple of crunchy tacos is all you need.  :)

I hope there are good things in store for you this weekend, my friends!  I hope it's lovely.

I agree: sometimes simple really is better. :)

I love the flowers! My daughter picked some for me last night, and they brighten the room--and my day. :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

I always use a Mason jar, rather than a vase. I just love that look!

Nibbles on the couch are divine! And good on you for calling in the nice experience, not many people do that.

I love rocks like those pretty white quartz ones- n often take them home from the beach. I use alot of jars here. Pretty n functional too! Plus re-use is good like recycling! Yep, there are alot of good folks working Walmart- I know some here. Sorry about the bad experience. Some apples just have rotten days-
sigh- wish I could crunch again! I miss those crunchies- You are so lucky!
Hope your week-end is enjoyable

I am totally lost. First of all it seems that the flowers are photographed backwards. Yes it is a lovely idea with the jar and rock, but shouldn't the yellow flower be turned toward us?

Second, what's the deal with Walmart? Did I miss a post about some ordeal. And what do you mean about picking up your online order? What is an online Walmart order?

Third...okay no question on the third point because I can understand crunchy tacos.

Oh, yeah those Taco Bell tacos are great. Except I can't stop at 2 :)

Totally agree on simple is better. nature puts out the most beautiful things, they stand out on their own.

The rocks at the bottom is like a little bit of river bed showcased in a bottle. Nice.

Dana -

And the loveliest part is - your daughter picked them for you.

Mama Zen -

It gave me the idea to do it at my place, too.

Claudia -

Thank you!

Sandie -

I tend to avoid it because of the crazy parking and the crowds, but got a good deal on this item, so there I went. :)

Riot Kitty -

Errr - I actually usually nibble on the couch, even though I have my grandparents' perfectly lovely dining room furniture. Somehow it seems to work out that way...

The Elephant's Child -

Thank you and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, too.

Snaggle -

You are right - I am lucky. :) Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Granny Annie -

You are right - I should have turned them around, but didn't. I was sitting at that table with my older sis and remarking how much I liked that kind of arrangement and just snapped the pic. :)

Online ordering: I had Googled Black & Decker toaster ovens. The last one lasted 20 years. A perfect one came up at Walmart.com - I ordered it and paid for it with Paypal. Apparently I got a better price by ordering in online, too. On Wednesday, they sent a text message to my phone that it was ready for pickup at my neighborhood Walmart store and off I went.

Like everyone - I have my share of not so great experiences out in the world, but I don't post about them, since my focus is on good things instead. Maybe I shouldn't have referred to the "bad" experience at all. But here's what happened - I arrived at my neighborhood Walmart at about 7:50pm and didn't spot where to pick up online orders, so stood in the regular customer service line for a good 10 minutes, when suddenly I noticed that the photo pickup area was also labeled "online order pickup". So I went and stood over there for about five minutes. Finally - a rather harried looking employee informed that they don't pull online pickups after 8pm and that I'd have to come back another day. It had been a long week - and I was very tired. I was irritated, but made my way a mile to my car and went home.

The next evening, I arrived at online pickup at 7:45pm and had to rush to get there. Wonderful Sandra asked me if she could help me with a smile. She pulled my package, prepared it for take home by taking it out of the larger packing box, and admired my purchase and smilingly talked about the good prices you can get online. I thanked her and told her how I was glad to get here before they stopped pulling online orders at 8 - mentioning what had happened the night before. Her face fell, and she shook her head. "We pull online orders up until 9pm - I don't know why he told you that." She just wished she had been there to help me the night before. I thanked her for her being so nice and went on. And I sure like that new toaster oven. :)

Yum - tacos. This might be a good day for more tacos...

I love that analogy.

Hi Lynn .. the flowers look great - and as you say 'simple is better' so often ..

Tacos sound good - simple and easy too ..

I'd be livid about the pick-up ... that wouldn't impress me - I hope Management can instil some customer service skills on that young man .. even if it is after the event. Hope Sandra gets a big plus and acknowledgement by the management crowd ..

Hope the toaster makes you a happy bunny?! Cheers Hilary

Yes - I'm a happy bunny, usually. :)
