Saturday farmers' market, jaunty and surrounded by children

- The Peachtree Road farmers' market inside St. Phillips Cathedral on Saturday.  I got a jar of Strawberry and Lavender jam from the woman beyond those huge mushrooms there.  Should the jam go in someone's Christmas stocking or should I keep it?  I vote for keeping it.  :)

- This purveyor of yogurt was wearing a jaunty straw hat with a sprig of holly in it.  Friend Laura thought he had a vaguely Johnny Depp appearance.  I'll let you decide.  Sorry for the fuzzy iPhone photo - click to enlarge.

- The sanctuary of my church on Sunday morning.  When the service started, I realized the two children in front of me and the one at my side were going to fidget during the whole service.  And then realized how happy I was to be surrounded by fidgeting children.

"...how happy I was to be surrounded by fidgeting children." Love this line :-)

Wish they had indoor Farmer's Markets here! They all stop for the winter! How nice-do take advantage!

Glad you decided to keep the jelly. Ileana will have to be the Johnny Depp Judge. Yes, oh yes, God bless the fidgety children.

Our church has a creche and Sunday school classes for fidgeting children and babies, and I remember as ours were growing up, what a blessing that was for us and everyone around us! :D

Yours looks like a wonderful farmer's market. I bought jam from a farm market here- some to keep and some for Christmas stockings.
We have those fidgeting children too : ) When they all exit for children's church, the sanctuary looks so empty!

That market has a lot of good stuff (Johnny Depp lookalike, for starters) and I'd keep the jam if I were you...or mail it to a friend in Miami. ;) While you're at it, try stuffing the JD lookalike into the FedEx box as well. LOL

J/K...NOT! ;)

Farmer's Markets are one of my joys as well. I love talking to the growers, the producers, the artisans. And yes, I vote for keeping the jam - and for appreciating the fidgets of children.

I'd immediately open the jar n try some- sounds yummy!
Wow, there's alot of folks in the background shopping there- popular spot! I don't see Depp...
Kids at the service can help keep you awake, n you can entertain them with looks too!

Thank you. The little girl to the left of me was my friend Ginny's granddaughter Bella, so furiously drew pictures and colored them all during the service. Five minutes before the service ended, she fell asleep. :)

The little girls in front of me were all done up in velvet dresses. Their family lit the Advent candle. I'm always impressed by these two - they get along so well. One traded places with the other during the service so she could sit beside her mother. There was no jealousy at all.

This farmers market is in a fancy urban area (Elton John's penthouse is within walking distance.) It was a special excursion for me. :)

Granny Annie -

I want to hug every child I see this week.

Joe -

I've heard of that - but we throw them in with everyone. There is a nursery downstairs for those who aren't ready for church service.

happy girl -

Me, too. :)

Hilary -

I haven't tried that jam yet - it deserves actual butter and a croissant. Maybe this weekend.

Mama Zen -

I have convinced myself to do that. :)

Riot Kitty -

It was so interesting to see such bounty inside a church hall, with its stained glass windows. And people were walking around in there with their dogs, which I couldn't believe they allow, but they do.

Leonora -

What that must be like. We don't have many children - we are a truly senior congregation. I'm upper middle aged at one of the younger people.

Ha! He was a tall one, so that might be a trick. :) Hope you had a wonderful birthday.

The Elephant's Child -

There is a wonderful international farmers market about five miles from my home - that's the one I go to most often. I love a farmers market.

Snaggle Tooth -

They also had an artists' market this past Saturday, so that was fun, too, and I got a couple of stocking stuffers. But the jam is staying with me. :)

He does look kind of Johnny Depp like.

Fidgeting children are certainly a thing to be thankful for. :)
