Wisteria, music on the main street and garden gate

- After my walk on Saturday morning, I was driving away from the park when I spotted this artfully draped wisteria and had to photograph it.  Love the dogwood tree framed by the arbor.

- Such a beautiful entrance into the garden.  I'm not sure if anyone lives in this house or not - there is a sign in front of it calling it Music on Main Street.  They have live music on Saturday nights and you are invited to bring a picnic and listen to music.

- I love that garden gate with the wind chimes that must tinkle when the gate is opened.  Music in itself.

It makes me think of the entrance to a secret garden. What a lovely sight. Does anyone live there?

Granny Annie's comment is my thought exactly - did you ever read The Secret Garden? The descriptions in that book conjure up images like this.

You live in a magical land, Lynn! :)

Such stunning images. There was a HUGE wisteria at my parent's home. When the house was demolished the wisteria was also ripped out. They thought.
I went back to check progress before the new house was finished - and the wisteria was making a come back. Good.

Hi everyone - I was feeling shell shocked last evening by the news of the day. We go on, as we do, but my thoughts and prayers are with the injured in Boston and the families of those who did not survive that senseless blast. The good thing in all of that was reading how so many runners continued running to the hospital to give blood. So much love given to out of towners by the local people who opened up their homes and shared resources. And of course, the responders who must deal with the aftermath of this tragedy.

Granny Annie -

I don't think anyone lives in the house, it's a business. Music lessons, instrument repair, and of course, the live music on Saturday. Must do that with a picnic soon. If I lived there, I'd be sitting on that front porch in one of those red rocking chairs all the time.

It always makes me think of grapes - I used to think they were grapes when I was a little girl.

Sandie -

The bunnies ate the root! Oh my!

Yes - I loved The Secret Garden. I remember all the descriptions of the flora inside it. My paternal grandparents had a lovely garden like that - so beautiful with all of its blooming things.

Talon -

It does look magical right now!

Elephant's Child -

Thank you. And I believe wisteria must be really dig into the roots. I'm glad it was there when you went back.

Hi Lynn - that wisteria is just wonderful - as is the framing of the dogwood with the arbour ..

The music on main street - what a great idea .. I'd love to join in .. and the garden gate with its windchimes.

On the sour note of today - my thoughts for all those affected by the Boston violence ...

Wow, 3 beauties. Wonderful to see, thanks, Dear Lynn.

I'm going to go listen to my our wind chimes now, take my glass of wine out front and commune with my lovely impatiens. Got em all planted just before 2 days of rain last week, whooohoooo.

Wait, what? oh... BB's asking me how many dogs you saw in the dog wood scene. Not sure if he's serious or not on that. :)

What beautiful vegetation you have there! We still have very little- no trees yet. My neighbors wisteria is still a brown twig!
Today was good enough for a picnic- wish I didn't have so many errands-
I have a bunch of chimes inside my house, because the wind is too wild out here, n it would keep me awake.
Beautiful Gate there-

Oh, these are lovely pictures and perfect theme for your post. I liked the wisteria and how it framed the dogwood tree. Well done!

Chimes on the gate is such a nice sound. I have three hanging chimes outside my porch and they serenade me often.

Have a great rest of your week, Lynn.
