Longed legged friend, back to school and back to normal

- This guy seems to be a resident of Tanyard Creek, the creek that runs through the Atlanta Beltline park where I walk after work.  I see him (or her) from time to time.  I spotted him when I went over the bridge, and snapped the photo with my phone when I made the return trip, standing so still and perfectly at peace.

- A dad and two little boys walk by near the school supplies area of Walmart.  The dad makes a comment about all the back-to-school stuff being put out and one of the little boys says plaintively, "Already???"

- The slightly lighter rush hour traffic has been nice in the morning, so I have mixed feelings, too, about young scholars getting back to school.

Ahhh - it's the weekend!  May good things happen to you this weekend!

He looks so happy wading in the water. And I agree with that boy - is it coming on that time? It will be August next week and I can't help looking around for July! :)

Have a lovely weekend, Lynn.

The sequestration here in my area causes much lighter traffic on Fridays. I wonder if it is the same by you? Back to school... yep, summer flies by.

We have both birds and school children around everywhere. Can't believe it is already time for back to school supplies. Just popping in to see what's going on. Trying to read up a bit before I start blogging again.

School supplies should not be out in July! I protest, and I'm not even a kid.

And I know what you mean about traffic.

We have a resident heron at the lake at the park near where we live. He's getting less and less shy, and I was able to get a pic from a couple of feet away the other day!

Love that Beautiful Bird---Long Legs and all....The stillness is so amazing, isn't it?
Back to school!! It is almost the end of July....How did that happen?

The kids have only just broken up for the holidays here in the UK. They don't go back until the first week of September. The quieter roads are always good. :D

What a beautiful bird!

I feel the same way about seeing fall fashions being displayed in my local mall. I am not ready to think about sweaters yet!

Nice Creek n Heron shot. Yep, one more month n summer school Vaca is over already! I miss those unscheduled times. But still like the supplies sales! 10 pens for a dollar! Paper, note books... so cheap I got some. Enjoy your week-end off!

Gracefully he enjoys his peace.

Christmas stuff will start appearing in the stores soon! I can't talk...I've already started buying gifts for my nephew's two little kiddies!! I like to give them a few presents each. I get more fun out of it, I think!

Talon -

They seem to start back early here - usually around the middle of August.

happygirl -

I don't think it's ever exactly light here, but I attribute it to school being out for the five minutes earlier I get to work in the summer.

Granny Annie -

I'm so glad to see you - take all the time you need.

Riot Kitty -

I protest, too. :) I actually noticed another guy watching the heron first. I've seen it now and again in the two years I've frequented that park.

Me, too. It was focused on something within those bushes beyond it.

Joe -

The schedule is a little off from here then.

Sparkling Red -

I know - let alone trying on stuff like that when it's 90+ degrees out.

Joanne -

I used to love it, too. :)

Snaggle -

Good idea - a good time to snap up pens!

Hilary -

It's my favorite walk, by far.

Lee -

I do that, too. Buy Christmas presents early.

Beautiful pics and yes, I see all the back-to-school deals out everywhere. It's madness!

I'm just trying to relax and enjoy the summer with the kids. Bike riding is our new favorite activity. My son and I are riding all over town, to the market, the burrito shop, library...it's nice taking the scenic route with the sights, sounds and smells all around us!
