Whiskers in the morning, flowers from a friend and Hallelujah

- My favorite shop cat, Whiskers, this time sporting a bejeweled collar for the jewel he is, takes in some morning sun from the front windows.  I had cuddled him earlier, and noticed him later, being carried around by a man who was browsing, who he had persistently followed throughout the shop.

-  Friend Janice (who is married) was so interested in my kitchen flowers that I always buy for myself.  I told her that I learned a long time ago not to wait for flowers.  So when I pick her up for an afternoon tea we are both attending, she presents me with a pot of purple orchids.  Lovely.

- An encounter with a young man with Down's Syndrome, who doesn't often interact with the world, always seemingly deep within himself.  It was my turn to greet at the front door of the church before the service yesterday.  When he came in with his mother, I greeted her and then him by name, and he responded (much to my delight) with, "Hallelujah."

My barn cat Olive is the most loving that has ever lived here. She follows me from the moment I open a door to go out. And so I pick her up and carry her around to keep from tripping over her. There is a method to her madness:)

Your friend Janice sounds like a keeper. And the young man was showing appreciation of you knowing and using his name.

I just LOVE Whiskers----and would love to cuddle with him myself.
Nothing like a Beautiful Orchid to bring Beauty to your day....And a Lovey Sunday, to boot!

I love that you buy yourself flowers, Lynn. We all should!

Love that last story about the young man :-) Also the notion of 'buying yourself flowers...' I do that with my hobby; doll restoration; I buy my own items to refurbish them and love getting even little things (like tiny shoes) in the mail! Kudos to you, Lynn! You are so right! :-) Hope you have a wonderful week my friend. And thank you for stopping by Vintage Doll!

Granny Annie -

Olive sounds like a love! Janice is a keeper and Richard totally made my day. You always make my day by coming here, my friend.

He would like to cuddle with you, too, I'll bet. It was a lovely Sunday and I remember you like orchids, too.

You should - I always pick them up at Whole Foods. I do love them.

That's lovely - whatever makes us happy, I think. I love the detail you give your dolls.

Thank you!

I like your flowers philosophy. I need to start doing that.
We have a Down's Syndrome teen at church who participates in our music ministry. He plays an egg shaker with the team every Sunday and he smiles the whole time. That smile is contagious : )

Great Whiskers pic! e should be a cat model, but is the perfect shop cat after all-
oooo purple Orchids! Such a special treasure! So nice of her.
Even those with challenged lives know what a special person was greeting them at God's house. Helps to add enthusiasm too.

I got another one of him focused on something outside. I snapped my fingers beside my head to get him to look at me. We're buds. :)

We have a guy in our church who has Downs Syndrome, he's in his 30's maybe. I've only spoken to him a handful of times but when I do he's always so warm and kind.

What a beautiful cat Whiskers is. You can tell by his face what a lovely nature he has.

Those with Down's Syndrome are very special people with souls of pure gold.
