Happy mail, comfort and optimism

- A good mail day - what I like to call "happy mail." Friend Michelle has sent me some books, there is a party invitation, my replacement Starbucks card, loads of catalogs, and a beautiful purple sweater.

- Coming home after mucking through a cold rain all afternoon, getting a fire going in the fireplace and knowing I do not have to go out again until the morning.

- It is still raining this morning, but I get to leave a little later than usual and I can go through the Starbucks drive through on the way in to work. Yay!

That Monkey Hunting cover looks fabulous, nice artwork.

Is it a gas fireplace?

A big wind here all through the night, tossing the leaves round and down. I LOVE this time of year.

I'm reading a good novel called "The Girl Who Stopped Swimming" by Joshalyn somebody. She's apparently a "southern" writer. I'm really liking it.

Starbuck's is always a good thing. :-)

Raining here too Lynn-Wow. That is 'happy mail!' Especially the books and the purple sweater!

Fun envelope stuffed with goodies. Happy mail is good. :)

A fire is perfect for banishing the grey blahs of a rainy day.

A book or two
A card for you
A purple sweater
To keep warm

Getting home just fine
Through a storm in time
To a fireplace she snuggles
Until the late morn

Rain is still falling
Starbucks is calling
Running a tad bit slow
The boss will not scorn

Jannie -

Yes - a gas fireplace. No wood chopping for me. :)

I love this time of year, too. xoxo

You look like a Rastafarian! Cool knitting! oxox

It doesn't come all at once like that usually. I also got my NPR card and some coupons that I had sent for. Only one bill. :)

I'll have to look that one up - I like most southern writers.

My Starbucks card fell between my car seat and the console and I can't get it out, so they were kind enough to send a replacement since I had registered it.

Yes - how did that happen???

lg -

I ordered a couple of things from Penney's and got free shipping and they sent them by slow boat apparently. I had almost forgotten about the purple sweater.

Talon -

It did banish the blahs - especially after I fell asleep in front of it. :)

A lovely wrap-up poem! Thank you. :)

My friends have a fireplace. It's a real treat to toast one's toes by it.

I love happy mail and December's the time for it. A replacement Starbucks card is what I need, and I'd love to have a Starbucks drive-thru around here (but I don't).

Enjoy the books and your new purple sweater!

Sparkling Red -

It comes on just after the lights this time of year - it's so cold out this morning that I wish I had time for some toe toasting. :)

Riot Kitty -

So many good things in the mail - loved it.

Lulu -

I only know of two drive through Starbucks, so I try to plan my trip accordingly. :)
