Standing in line, representation and earthy

- A little political sign madness - it is good that it is over, so these signs can go away. It is always enjoyable to chat with the people around me in line at 6:45am - waiting for that 7am voting time and even more fun when the director of my volunteer organization walks in and joins the line. We didn't know we lived in the same neighborhood.

- The Wednesday email for the weekly farmers' market near my house. I love this (partial) list of what they will have: milk, cream, organic bread, local honey, doggie treats, tarts, pies and cookies. Even the dogs get homemade goodies - how nice.

- And a surprise healthy treat at a late evening meeting - someone brings in pumpkin bread. Earthy, moist and the right color for fall - kind of orangey.

LOL when I walked in the door to vote the lady that runs the place said here comes trouble.

She told me to stop telling the Dem's, they had to go to the Post Office to vote.

Ummm pumpkin bread :) I too, am glad that all the signs will soon be gone (but I am still pleased to live and have the fortunate blessing to have been born in the 'ol U.S. of A. Glad for that.)

Riley and Charlie could use some of those healthy treats...but it's got me wondering if leaves and walnuts count as Charlie is up to eat just about anything she encounters - lol!

Never had pumpkin bread - but it sounds lovely!

Did somebody say tarts, pies and cookies?? :)

Yes, sign, sign, everywhere a sign, blocking the scenery, blowing my mind. (I may not have all those lyrics right.) :)

Signs of nice cool weather here -- had a lovely refreshing walk with the wind in my face. Then did 10 mins buttock work here at home. Great start to my day!

You would love the pumpkin bread, I think.

It's nice to see that an outbreak of civility and pleasantries can be a thing of beauty on election day.

The pumpkin bread sounds nice!

I hate it when certain houses plaster their garden with signs before election day. I'd be at that house at the crack of dawn with a saw! :D

Yes Lynn I'm the same here as in the real world. I have a lot of fun and try and make a lot of people LOL.

I just got some yummy, nutty pumpkin bread yesterday. I love it with cream cheese. :)

Doggie treats at the market? How sweet is that?? Enjoy the other goodies!

Me, too. I'm glad it is over though. :)

Joe -

It was good to see them mostly put away today. They are those things that are metal that stick in the ground so no saw needed. But I like the mental image I had there of you doing that. :)

Ellis -

That's a great way to be, I think.

Ily -

Ooh - cream cheese would be good on that. Yum.

I love lists like that! There is a store in my neighbourhood that has a list of what they sell in the window: Yogurt, Bananas, Samosas, Phone Cards, and Bollywood Videos. I have never been inside that store, but I feel like I have a full sense of it just from that list.

OK, I just got home from dinner, and your blog STILL makes me want to eat! I love any kind of bread or pastry with pumpkin.

nice - a little pumpkin bread is always welcomed! I love voting. It's always fun to see neighbors around. My 5 year old had to decorate a (paper) turkey feather and we decided to write things around it that we were thankful for and she wrote "we voted" in the middle. I thought that was funny.

I'm glad the vote is over too- the sigbs here are littering all over! I had to pick one up thrown in the woods today. Nice the automated calls are over too!
I always find nice folks in that line too!
I wish I could get to the farmers market n still sleep that day. Oh well- I got teeny deck beets n greens to eat this week. There's a shop here full of home-made doggie gourmet stuff.
I do love pumpkin n squash breads- n so tasty plus good for you too!

I'd be tempted to pop in for a Samosa. :) I love quirky lists, too.

Looks as if you are in Atlanta, too? Then you saw plenty of yard signs yourself. :)

My sister makes these wonderful pumpkin muffins that are chocolate, too. Yum.

I think it is our duty to vote, but I like to do it, too. Someone voting the same time as I had his little daughter with him and she wanted to click in the voting card.

The woman who awarded me my sticker told me to send my friends.

Snaggle -

I don't get those automated calls for some reason. I'm not complaining though.

Good for you for cleaning up your area of inappropriately discarded yard signs.
