The Swan house, the Braves and Friday treat

- The front of The Swan House on another rainy day. Now part of the Atlanta History Center, it is an elegant, classically styled mansion built in 1928 for the Edward H. Inman family, heirs to a cotton brokerage fortune.

- The Atlanta Braves winning their opening game against the Washington Nationals yesterday. It's lovely to see baseball season start, no matter who wins. Friends Kim and Robert are regular attendees in person and were excited to see the lights on at Turner Field (aka "The Ted") when we passed it on Tuesday evening.

- Finding that a pre-oatmeal square of Dove dark chocolate goes nicely with coffee on a Friday morning.

I hope your weekend is full of beautiful sights, winning moments and special treats. Have a lovely one, friends!

I think a bit of chocolate, yes, is good pre-just-about-anything!

Quite the building. I'd like to shinny up a column and drink a beer at the top. :) and I want you to know I may never have written the word shinny in my entire life! :)

have a beauteous day!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. The kids have just finished school for nearly one month so I'm not sure how this weekend is going to go! I think I'll hide in the garage. :D

The Swan House; what an interesting name Lynn. It is also curious that it was made out of poured cement. It is gorgeous though. I love the tree blooming in the forefront of the pic...we have no such blooms yet. Have a truly FINE weekend Lynn!!

Gorgeous place!

So that's what I've been doing wrong (I hate oatmeal) - I've been skipping the chocolate appetizer! :)

Have a beautiful weekend, Lynn!

Jannie -

I keep those Dove dark chocolate squares in my fruit bowl - it gets equal time with fruit. :)

Shinny is a great word! Hee hee - I'd like to see that shinnying.

xoxoxo

Joe -

Oh my - good luck with that!

It has touches of swans throughout the house - in the decor, etc. It's fun to look for them when you go there.

I eat oatmeal Monday thru Friday with cinnamon and artificial sweetener. It's gotten pretty routine. :)

Mama Zen -

You, too, MZ!

That is lovely as a museum but I can't imagine anyone ever *living* in a place like that. It'd be damn cold, for one thing.

I was just saying I did not have writers block.

From cotton
to a house
to a Center
In almost
a hundred years

nine men
nine innings
after three
you get to bat
around three bases
you must run
after hitting a ball
with a wodden bat

What a large house- looks staight out of the plantation era of the 1800's. That's alot of cotton- of which most of my clothes are made-
Glad the B-ball Opening Day went well for your team- The Red Sox were somewhere in TX fotr theirs today- haven't heard yet.
Dove Dark is such smooth dark chocolate, one of my favs. I've been partaking of Gharidelli 65 percent, but it'ds not as smooth.

Have a great week-end Lynn

I enjoy a baseball game, but am not as devoted as these two, who go all the time to the point that the vendors know their names. :)

Riot Kitty -

It was a home though and still has all the furniture - it does have a cold look - especially on a chilly damp day like Thursday.

I'm glad you don't have writers block. :) Love the poem!

I am partial to cotton myself and wear that most of the time. I hope you have a great weekend, too!

Lynn, I just found your blog and I love it. I like the way you think. I've just finished a serious go around with fruit, so On to the chocolate! Looking forward to crawling through your archives.

It's a long story but I actually lived in a mansion like that when I was 13, 14, and 15. It is no wonder I've always thought I was such a princess:)

Don't know about sports but do know about chocolate and Dove is yummmmmmmmmmmmmy!

Happy Girl -

It's good to see you and I visited your blog, too - seems as though we have similar sensibilities. :)

Granny Annie -

You should tell that story on your blog sometime. Yes - I love the Dove chocolate, too. A little too much.
