1. Don't go up to customers devoid of warm emotion, be full! (Eric)
2. Don't be lazy, carry stuff, pick up stuff off tables. (Jesse)
They asked one of the waiters. It was 2, but I like 1 better.
- Walking up to a building for a meeting and encountering a young lady getting off a little silver scooter. She is wearing a red skirt and matching red helmet and cool glasses. I almost tell her she will be a Good Thing, but decide the explanation is too long and possibly alarming.
- I am supposed to be reading two books for my two different book groups, "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide" by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn and "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer. But I am enjoying the delightfully predictable "Folly Beach" by Dorothea Benton Frank. Sometimes a lighthearted book is just what the doctor ordered. :)

Suddenly I am craving lighthearted books and movies. This is extremely opposite of my usual mystery and drama selections. Shall look for FOLLY BEACH.

I have loved all of Dorothea Benton Frank's novels - they are usually set in the low country and I think they are perfectly delightful. I've read all of them. I'm glad you will look for Folly Beach, but you can find the others, starting with Sullivan's Island.
Neat sign! And yes, sometimes light reading is the prescription!

I agree about the book. There are some many times I pick books I "should" read because the writer is well known, but instead pick up the one that looks like fun to read:~)
Isn't funny how you select new and unknown books? I do a lot looking at the cover, the text inside and the texture of the paper. I will not pick a book solely based on this, but it does matter to me. Who knows why?

The first book sounds heavy. But maybe for a good cause. We are SO LUCKY to live in a relatively non-oppressive society for women. And folks in general.
I think I need one of those "Please don't leave the car with empty hands" for Kelly to read! :) Groceries, trash, backpacks, clothes and such. She is getting better with time tho. Just needs a friendly reminder most days. :)

That's the bad thing about being in two book clubs - we are always looking for relevant. Maybe I should start a third one for trash fiction. :) (Although Ms. Frank's books certainly aren't trash. I kick a kick out of them because they always seem to have the same middle aged heroine who knows the southern ways of living well.) :)

The good thing in the first two things is that they made me smile. The good thing in the third thing is that I was hard pressed to come up with a third thing and just thought I'd share the books I'm reading.
I had set the post to publish at 6am and was running out of time - I do that sometimes so I won't lollygag.

At work I always say "Never waste a trip" n push soon needed racks across the building when going to get a drink or to the restroom- saves walking more later, the feet get sore as it is!
Wish I had $ to save gas bux with a new scooter! Matching it? Priceless.
That first book sounds very helpful- but self-help can be dry. I always read Star Wars series (set after the films stories) for fun. Love the creativity of different worlds n non-human sentinents. What would the reading groups do with that?
