Shiny, happy people, friends and honeysuckle

- This house near my office on busy Defoor Avenue has always caught my eye.  But on Thursday, I was sitting far enough back in traffic waiting for the light to change to take a photo of it.  It looks so happy with its bird house, star, flag, hydrangeas and porch swing.  I'll bet happy people live there.

- Later, during my walk, this guy and his smiling friend were eyeing a rather large turtle off to the right of the sidewalk.  The three of us wondered why it was so far out of the creek, but left it to journey on as we also went on our way.

- A whiff of sweet honeysuckle surely spells the beginning of summer.

Yes - I love the city, too.  I think my sojourn to small towns the last two weekends make me miss that life, but there is much to love in my ATL, too.  I hope you have a sweet and happy weekend!

I would almost guarantee that the people living in that quaint home are not perpetrators of domestic violence.

Always leave the turtles to journey on their way. Only disturb them if they are in a path of destruction and I'm not even sure you should move them then, thus altering the universe.

Did you ever gently pull the stem out of a honeysuckle flower and drop the sweet juice in your mouth?

We do not ever want to live in the city again.

Ah, the smell of honeysuckle

Such a cute house. Oh, I want to live in the city so bad. I long to have life within walking distance. Step out to shop or museum or restaurant or whatever. Pavement and cabs and buses and subways. Some of us are meant for these.

Hi Lynn .. you're right .. if we open our eyes, listen with our ears, take time out to smell the roses - or honeysuckle in your case .. there's a wealth of pleasure around us .. enjoy this weekend - Hilary

There's beauty everywhere when you have the eyes for it.

Have a glorious weekend, Lynn!

Oh!!we have no honeysuckle here and I love-love that smell. It delights my senses. Lynn. I always study turtles when I do find them. In Florida, very large gopher turtles could be found wondering about and digging boroughs for their young.

Granny Annie -

Looking at that house is deceptive, because the street is such a mix of residential and commercial structures. Right across the street is Ballard Designs - a big catalog order company.

Yes - I hope no one disturbed the turtle. I wouldn't have noticed it except for the man and dog gazing at it.

I did suck the juice from the honeysuckle flower - we did that as kids.

I'm conflicted about city vs. country living. There are rewards to both. My farm sister loves to visit me and thinks it's so cool that you can go to the grocery store at midnight and see any movie you want. I think it's wonderful that she has such peace and quiet and nice people around her.

Old Lady of the Hills -

You can get honeysuckle in this city - that photo was taken in a park within a very urban area.

Sage -

It's awesome, isn't it?

I agree - it would be fun to live in a house or highrise apartment distance to do all those things. But that's all too pricey for me - I have the 'burb budget. :)

Exactly and I expect it to be glorious - I yours is, too.

This ones head was bobbing around as if he couldn't fathom the large creatures looking at him. :)

No honeysuckle there? I love the smell, too.

What a pretty front yard those happy folks have. Box tirtles here are at home in the woods. Water turtles go to land to lay eggs here. We have designateed turtle nests in our town!
We're not near Honeysuckle flower time here yet- My neighbor cut alot of the vines off my Huckleberry tree without asking last week- Some were the Honeysuckle. There's plenty across in the woods tho.
Sign of summer here- I saw grass-hoppers on the lawn this week!
Have a good week-end (I'm working long hourds again)

With your view of life, which you share so wonderfully at your site, I can't think of a place you wouldn't find something good to write about.

It's because you look for it; a gift that needs no home:~)

I hope all is well with you!

I hope you are having a great weekend yourself. When I go out, I too am in search for beautiful houses. This weekend we went to my uncle's place in the suburbs and saw many handsome houses in an exclusive village and wished it was mine :D

I used to love eating the honey out of honeysuckle when I was a kid. Good memories!

I hope the turtle hasn't lost its way and finds its bearings back.

A birdhouse makes for a happy place, and happy people.
