- One could hope.
- A woman accosted me at the entrance to the church, asking for money to get home on the bus, so I gave her all my change. My friends inside said she's been hanging out regularly asking for money and that is what she always says. I felt a flash of idiocy and then decided it was OK - I helped someone who is about my age who is not as fortunate as me and just hope she used it to get a hot meal somewhere. And my purse felt about a pound lighter.
- The moon looks beautiful as I leave the meeting. Waxing Gibbous, the internet tells me. I love its bright glow that shines over me as I head for home.

Oh that darn pessimist who lives inside me.....
God bless you friend. Giving to those less fortunate than ourselves is not idiocy, it's being Christ-like. :)
Granny Annie -
It was a sign that spoke to me - yes, I guess that would make me an optimist. :)

Thank you - that encounter stayed with me and hearing that everyone else would never give her money gave me pause. But I'm not patting myself on the back - just decided that it was a good thing that worked for me.
I always figure if someone is desperate enough to ask for money - something much be wrong.
I loved that you gave the woman your change. I do this, also AND have been told it's not worth it. But, you know, I always feel better:~)
That sign is great, as is your response.
I missed the Waxing Gibbous...don't you love the names given to moons? Not long ago, we driving home and the moon was so BIG, it was amazing. I felt like I could see craters.
Happy day to you, Lynn...may it filled with good things happening:~)
I usually give myself. I dont know and refuse to judge what took the person to that point. If I can give, I do give.
I bet your heart felt lighter, too, Lynn. Good on you.
Pay it forward and it does come back to you. :)
I love the sign!
You have a good attitude. I agree with happygirl.
So sweet of you to give to someone in need...good karma is coming your way!

I LOVE your take on this---it is true, too. She has a lot less than you, no matter how you slice it. And you haven't really lost anything by giving her what you did. In fact, you gained.....An open Heart filled with Generosity feels so much better than a Cynical one.....!
We had a lady pulling the same thing at one of the mall parking lots. She really cleaned up. I found that out after I gave her a toonie (our version of a $2 bill). Oh well, a kind heart is always better than a suspicious one, I think. :)

I think so, too.

Thank you - I'm glad I did it, too. And I LOVE it when the moon gets big like that.

It's best not to judge - I agree and glad you give, too.

A little kindness goes a long way, but again, not patting myself on the back. That encounter just stayed with me.

Maybe - but not necessary.

I agree - I do not care for the cynics. :)

Sometimes I've seen the same people over and over, too.
I gave bus change to some kids this week too- he would have missed the last one home- A lot of needy around here lately too- Very sad...
