Misty blue, canine friends and lonely journey

- Love the Wild Ageratum "Mist Flower" that is blooming at the park where I walk on the weekends.  A glorious blue on a gloriously blue sky day.

- Canine friends Dory and Macintosh smile away on a pause in the walk while their mom takes a call.  I always love how Dory looks back during the walk to see if we're still there.  She is named after Nemo's friend from the animated film Finding Nemo.  Mac is a retired service dog.  Both are just happy to be leashed together for a walk with the ladies.

- Can you see the Monarch butterfly on the cornstalk above?  It fluttered past me and my family during our visit to the John C. Campbell Folk School fall festival on Sunday, and must be making its way south on a lonely journey to Mexico for the winter.  No other butterflies in sight.  And the interesting thing was that it landed in the middle of a festival.  This cornstalk is a decorative touch beside a busy window where barbecue was being sold.

I was completely ignorant about the Butterflies long journey to warmer weather in the winter until I watched a 3d film at Butterfly World which really helped me understand more about these wonderful insects.

Joe -

I saw an IMAX film about the journey of the Monarchs at the science center here in Atlanta. I didn't know much about them either - it's astounding to see them clustered in the trees in Mexico.

Ily -

Thanks friend!

Love the misty blue, the canine friends and even the lonely journey of the butterflies. Must say Dory and Macintosh are my favorites. What beautiful Golden Retrievers. How did the owners acquire a retired service dog or was it their service dog?

What lovely dogs. They both do look so happy. Golden Retrievers are beautiful dogs that always seem to have such a wonderful nature.

The blue on blue by you is beautiful, too, by the way! :)

I'm stuck on that blue sky behind the corn stalks. It must have been a beautiful day at the festival!

Hi Lynn - lovely recounting of a snippet of life .. the dogs, the colours and wild ageratum ... then the butterflies - they do the same here - they go off to Africa for the Winter and then return .. their journeys always amaze me ...

Cheers Hilary

I do like those pretty blue blossoms. Here the blooms are fading, except the wild New York Asters n the Mums at the store.
My neighbors cocker spaniel is "Nemo". In the movie Dori always said "Just keep swimming" I recall. Cute retrievers.
Good Butterfly contrast shot. None of mine were usable this year- but tons of butterflies have been here laying eggs on the milkweed.

The flowers are glorious and do match the skies we've been having lately. I thought about you as I took a walk last Saturday.

It was a remarkable day -- so clear and bright. I watched as skein of geese flew from the nearby pond in a perfect "V" honking the entire time.

The dogs look like they're having fun:~) They do look very polite dogs and must be nice to have them share your.

As always, it's calming to visit your site. Given my busy day, I really appreciate my time here:~)
