One month later, band concert and Sunday gathering

- Saturday morning.  Same spot as below, exactly one month later.  It looks much more golden now and I loved watching the leaves fall into the river and float away.

- The gazebo in the town square.  When I rolled into town Friday night after dark, a band was playing in the gazebo while a number of people sitting in camp chairs on the lawn listened.  The mournful sound of a saxophone faded away as I made my way to the river.

- The mallard duck family (click to enlarge.)  Father duck spent most of the day on Saturday, around those rocks, alone.  The mom kept flying in to encourage him to come with her.  A bit of squabbling ensued - so funny to watch.  She would take off in irritation.  And then on Sunday, she brought the family with her.  Peace was at hand.

that swift water should have given those ducks quite a workout... I too was on a river this weekend.

I had a family of pheasants walk in front of my car at the weekend. I'm glad your ducks were safely on the river.

I see how the colors are more golden! Sometimes the entertainment in nature is the best entertainment of all :) And it's free!

FB -

I so loved seeing father duck come in for a landing and just hang out at that rock for hours. I guess it's the man rock. :)

Sage -

Not so swift unless they release the dam gates. Off to your blog...

YEAH she did!

That green/blue on the mallard's head is so distinctive. I always love river views and this was delightful. Thank you.

That looks like a very peaceful place!

So pretty with the color upgrade in your new river pic- Watching leaves travel further downstream sounds like a great hobby!
Love unexpected live music- partial to brass too. My Mom played sax, n passed it down to my daughter, who passed it to a cousin after taking up clarinet in band.
Daddy Duck sounds pretty stubborn, There must've been some awesome seaweed to eat there someplace... Babies are so cute!

The Elephant's Child -

I took a little film of it so I could hear the water when I'm home.

Riot Kitty -

It really is.

Snaggle -

I love that place - everything about it.
