Amanda's boot, Bess's drink and the shop cat

- Some random photos of good things from this past week - this one of niece Amanda's boot on the weekend after Christmas.  She was balancing on one foot and pulling on the other one, while I snapped this rather fuzzy photo of the right foot boot.  I love the color on the inside of them.  She has become the snappiest dresser in the family and always seems to have boots to go with her outfit.

- Lunch with friends on New Year's Eve Eve day (last Monday.)  :)  Friend Laura's daughter Bess ordered a "Lush Lady" cocktail at 1910 Public House in Lilburn, Georgia.  A beautiful drink, consisting of "13th colony southern gin, bitter truth violet liquor, brovo rose germanium liquor, lemonade, with a lemon twist."

 - And my favorite shop cat, Whiskers, at my favorite antique shop, a few doors down from the restaurant.  He had adopted this stool in the middle of the shop and a browser just ahead of me didn't think he was real until he moved.  Someday I'll post of gallery of Whiskers photos.

And it's the weekend again - thank goodness!  I deserve it after working just two days this week.  :)  I hope you have a wonderful one full of good things.

Whiskers looks like a real star, I look forward to seeing more photos.

And good from Amanda, it's a always nice to see another snappy dresser!

Life on the farm does not call for snappy dress. However I have two events this weekend and would like to look nice. My closet is filled with clothes....that are too small. I do not want to invest in bigger clothes. Whatever shall I do?

I just realized this new year hasn't brought one drop of alcohol past my lips? That is weird. Not even one scotch. hum?

A photo array of Whiskers will be something to look forward.

Wow, after a full work week of TWO DAYS, you deserve a break:)

Joe -

There was one from just a few days ago, when he was sleeping on a bed for sale in the shop. :)

She used to wear jeans to work all the time - not sure what happened. Nice suits, scarves, etc. - but always the boots.

Granny Annie -

She actually lives and works on a plantation, although in the office most of the time. For some reason though, she ends up having to give injections to the cattle. :)

Do you have a plain jacket that you could put a festive scarf with? Lots of scarves on sale right now. It seemed to the big gift this Christmas for my sis. I always think you can dress up clothes with scarves and jewelry.

Me either with the alcohol - no wine. I like scotch, too, but hardly ever drink it.

I know - two days - it's been awful! Woe is me. :) Ha!

The color of that drink is incredible! And does it bring out the bitter truth? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

Have a beautiful weekend, Lynn!

Whiskers is beautiful. Master of his domain. And a gallery would be wonderful.
That cocktail is an incredible colour. Not certain I would want to drink it, but happily admire it from afar.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Oooh, that's a pretty drink! Just as pretty as those boots! I love surprise colors inside shoes and purses like that.

Very nice boot, indeed! Love-love the color of that drink! What a beautiful deep purple. Sweet looking cat; "Awwwh."

Might get cold in Atlanta next week!

The color in those is fantastic! What is in the drink to make it so purple?

I just LOVE Whiskers! I hope you do post a whole bunch of pictures of him---she has a very peaceful and spiritual look. Beautiful coloring, too.

Whiskers is a cutie!

Nice looking boots and a neat cat, but don't know if I would like a drink that looks radioactive.

Ooh, Bitter Truth Violet Liquor sounds intriguing.

I love a good boot. I saw a pair of shiny gold boots at a thrift store recently, in my size, but I refrained from buying them because I am all out of shoe storage space.

Whiskers is adorable!

Hi Lynn - love the photo shoots .. that drink sounds amazing - though gin disagrees with me .. just the descriptive terms .. while yes I could imagine lounging on a bar stool with my boots on a chair across from me .. admiring my long legs and cool dressing --- very not me! Great post though ..

I too hope the cold doesn't do too much damage .. sounds nasty - all the best Hilary

Ooo that drink is such a pretty color! Though I'd probably be a little wary that it tasted like perfume, with all those floral notes!

I don't know, but it didn't seem to bring out the bitter truth in Bess. :) I think it looks like Dimetap.

Elephant's Child -

Someone called me and asked if I wanted two kittens on Saturday. I said I just admire other friends' cats (like Whiskers.)

Leonora -

She has a whole array of beautiful boots.

It's pretty cold - I had to whip out the down coat today. :)

Riot Kitty -

Probably the "bitter truth violet liquor".

Naomi -

He makes a great shop cat - I'll definitely do a post just about him someday.

Mama Zen -

He is a cutie!

Sage -

She said it was very sweet. :) I just had to snap a photo of it.

Sparkling Red -

I always end up wearing the same comfortable shoes, which are never boots.

Sandie -

Yes - I am pretty darn cold.

Hilary -

I'm not a big fan of gin either.

Cheers to you!

Joanne -

I suspect it was pretty floral. :)
