My idea of decadence, feminine side and kindred spirit

- It poured rain on Saturday morning, really poured - a good time for drinking coffee and reading my book*.

- A baby shower in which the mom and dad opened gifts together.  I complimented him on his pink shirt (to match the baby girl motif) and he pulled up his trousers to show me he was wearing pink argyle socks, too.

- Book group meeting on The Burgess Boys* by Elizabeth Strout (all agreed - a good read).  The hostess has an immaculate home, but an embroidered pillow makes me smile.  It reads:  "My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance." Quote from Erma Bombeck.

I like that quote : ) And I agree with your idea of decadence- reading a good book on a rainy day-perfect!

I always love to see your angel on the deck.

Guess we're wishing for a girl this time around.

Erma Bombeck's quotes never let us down. She is truly one who is missed. Her book speaking to children on death is excellent.

Loved Erma. She really knew what was important in life.

Raining days and book reading are best friends. :)

It probably takes a more than few glances to sweep this house, but I like it. Rather a lot.
Reading and rainy days are a perfect match.
Now, if you are finished with it, could you send some rain over here? Please?

If I read a book every time it rained here in the UK I'd be reading hundreds a month! :D

Lovely quote.

I wasn't sure how the sentence was going to end after "pulled up his trousers"! I thought you meant the waistband!

Me, too - I was so delighted to have that time.

Still raining, looks like, but that's OK. My deck is fun. :)

Granny Annie -

Thank you - it's a treasure, for sure.

I haven't heard any wishes, but that would be nice. Or a boy would be fun, too.

We all read that book when my nephew developed childhood leukemia years and years ago - so wonderful. He is fine now, but a lot of his friends weren't.

Me, too. :)

A rainy day does have a tendency to make you relax and while away the hours doing almost nothing.

And yes - totally best friends!

Elephant's Child -
