- Attending the play "Jersey Boys" at the Fabulous Fox Theatre with the Fun Girls. It is the rags to riches tale of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Great music and choreography. Even the dour looking man in the seat beside me was clapping to the music by the end.
- Meeting the Fun Girls before the play at an untried restaurant, Ecco. Upon arrival telling the hostess that I was looking for my friends, "Perhaps they are here already? Several lively women?"
- A lovely cocktail called "Long Live the Queen." Bombay Sapphire with hints of elderflowers, lemon, peach and mint, served up in a chilled martini glass. The menu stating, "It’s like a walk in the garden with Elizabeth." And a perfect amuse bouche: fried goat cheese with honey and black pepper. Yum...

What a night out! That sounds like a lot of fun.
I miss theater and going to a nice place before/after, living so far away from the "big city".
What a charming description of your group!
Oooo, Ecco. Lynn, are you referring to the one located in the heart of midtown Atlanta, that features seasonally inspired cuisine with European influences? Ecco, where the atmosphere is welcoming, much like a neighborhood classic, imbued with a sophisticated yet casual elegance? I was there last week! Wonderful!
And that thing for the Jersey Boys? Until I read what you'd written I thought it was maybe packaging for some mens' undergarments. I really did!
Jewel - I do enjoy plays and such and that theater is one of those grand old movie palaces. So you live in the country? Always nice, too.
Welcome Mama Zen! I named them the Fun Girls after the "Fun Girls" from the Andy Griffith show. Another member of the group calls us the Foxy Ladies since we go to the Fox Theatre. :)
Jannie! You were here and didn't tell me???? LOL. Hmmm - I can just imagine how you know the description.
How funny - mens' undergarments! I could see that.
I can't wait to see Jersey Boys in July. I'm taking my Mom. We'll be singing and clapping along - lol!
Fun Girls - now that's a group you want to be a part of!
My Mom is from England. I'll have to share the "Long Live the Queen" drink recipe with her.
Talon - What a great time that will be - I am glad you are going. You and your mom will love it. Jersey Boys must be sweeping North America - my sister in the Shenandoah Valley is going in August. (Probably in DC.)
My throat always hurts the next day from laughing so much with the Fun Girls. Love them!
Does your mom live in England still? Yes - share that drink - recommended!
Lynn, my Mom lives about an hour and a half away from me here in Ontario, Canada. She was a war bride. We have tons of relatives in England and visit back/forth...
That is so nice that she is that close. I visited England and Scotland about 10 years ago and loved it there. Nice to have someone to visit!
only the finest cotton jersies!
xo
I wonder if those Jersey Boys wore / wear Jersies. :)
