Happy dog, finding the fog and difference

- This happy dog running from one side of the pick-up truck to the other, happily gazing at all who pass.

- Driving back up to the mountains mid-week for a quick overnight trip and finding the fog settling in over the river.*

- Enjoying the difference in the mountain culture during the week, no festivals, just people going to Wednesday night services at church. Year 'round neighbors out for walks. Happy dogs in pick-up trucks.

* A little delay in this post - that's why it refers to mid-week from last week. I didn't get the photos downloaded until the weekend.

Great shots, Lynn. Fog is so neat. Hate driving in it, but love how it looks and how it transforms a space.

I always find the differences in the neighborhood depending on the time of day/day of the week/time of year really interesting. What a great example of contrasting rhythms.

I love that shot of the river!

The water was high on the river that evening because the dam had opened its gates. I love it when it is rushing by like that with the fog over it.

I found that evening that there is no sneaking in to the neighborhood. Three ladies I knew were out walking and another from a neighboring house came over to see if I needed anything. Nice people.

Mama Zen -

You can see a little of the farm across the river - the farmer is in his 90s and works the farm every day and sells his vegetables.

Lynn, I imagine his active lifestyle is why he's still going strong at 90!

Yes - and lights out in his house when the sun does down...

That river looks to be really rolling fast.

And ya gotta love a dog on an outing.

Yes - it is peaceful and slow most of the time, but it gets all loud and fast moving when they open the flood gates at the dam. The kids know not to go tubing during that time or they'll end up too many miles from home. :)

I'm sure you experience that where you live on the cape. More business as usual during the week.

Caught the fog at just the right moment.
