Special greeter, happy accident and joyous

- Visiting my friend Jake at the antiques business for special delivery of some sale materials. I call out to the human owner, but she doesn't answer (she was in the warehouse.) Feeling a little nudge, I look down and Jake is looking up. What a special greeter and he can usually be found camping out on this heirloom sofa.

- Too quickly scanning the programmed numbers on my cellphone to call friend Cathy M to tell her I am not going to make a meeting, and having to leave a message (to one of those messages that just speaks the number.) And I called the wrong Cathy. Cathy H calls to say I had better call the correct Cathy to tell her I'm not coming. We have a lovely catch-up - it has been a least two years since we spoke.

- A shout-out to my friends from the True North. The joyous singing of "O Canada" at the gold medal ceremony for the Canadian ice dancing team.

Blue Bunny -

He is fun and lots of petting ensued. :)

I'll bet you would win the karrit peeling kontest! You have a wonderful day and give your family some x's and o's for me.

I wish all businesses had dog greeters!

Glad you caught up with your friend. A happy accident!

Yes, the gold performance was absolutely beautiful...but we're still not recovered from the hockey loss - lol!

What a wonderful cell phone mixup, since it caused you to get back in touch with a friend. :)

Jake always remembers that I know how to shake hands. He sits in front of me and lifts his paw.

Cathy H was a happy accident friend to begin with. We met in line at a Women for Hire job fair when we were both unemployed. We bonded over job hunting.

Well - the crowd sang so joyfully that it made me look up the words to the song, my True North friend!

Isn't it? And do you think anyone will ever want to buy that sofa? He is on it at some point every time I go over there.

Meredith -

It was. I was initially embarrassed, but it was good to see what she's been up to.

I find that any dog that greets me wants to sniff my crotch, and I find it a bit off putting. :D Maybe I need to take more baths.

Great to catch up with an old friend like that too!

I don't know why dogs do that, but I don't think it is your hygiene. :)

Good thing someone was keeping an eye on the store- I love folks who get to have pets at work! (n have friendly pets).
I've so many old friends to call- some folks can pick right up again- if only we all had endless time to do it-
Canada has been doing well in these games- seems they must feel alot of pressure being the Home team tho- I missed the team win too- I'd love more tv time for it.

That is what makes it such a nice place to go to - that there is a friendly dog as well as friendly owner.

I'll sure miss the games when they are over - I haven't gotten to watch them much either.
