Gulf winds, remembered and good sleep

- That old floral wallpaper in my bathroom is history after today. And finding that choosing a new wall color is not easy - too dark, too turquoise, too somber, too not right. One of the colors on the propped up chip is it - my painter told me to mark it and he will go buy it and start today. I hope I like Gulf Winds. Sigh.

- A decadent pasta lunch from Figo Pasta - ravioli with goat cheese and walnuts. And being remembered not for my name, but for my smile when I go in to pick it up.

- After an exhausting few days, crawling into bed at 9pm and falling instantly asleep. And the satisfaction of waking for a moment at 10:30pm knowing that I have several more hours of sleep to go.

Good to hear that you are resting with satisfaction in the end.
Happy Wednesday!

Though the color probably doesn't read 100% perfectly on a computer, I love that Gulf Winds shade - like Goldilock's would say,"It's just right!" It's going to look so chic, Lynn!

I love that feeling you described when you wake up and realize you can just resettle, plump the pillows and drift back to sleep.

I think the new colour will work very well, and without the very busy wallpaper with the flowers all over, it will seem very calm and light too. :)

We are choosing new colours for our house in Arizona and it's so hard to get right!

Somehow I wasn't surprised that you were recognized for your smile. I bet it's a beauty!

Choosing colors is hard. In a divorce trial I worked on (long ago), the husband claimed the wife was too picky -- and used as evidence the fact that she had had one room of their house repainted 17 times! And that wasn't spread out over the course of their marriage, but 17 times in a row, because the tint wasn't just right, LOL. Gulf Winds looks lovely, though. :)

9 PM bedtime would be delicious.

What a nice thing to be remembered for - your smile!

I am partial to sea-themed paint colors. Gulf Winds sounds cool. I hope it works out for you!

Jingle -

I woke up feeling pretty good today. It was just what I needed and leaped into my mind immediately when posting my Good Things. Happy Wednesday to you!

I just talked to the painter (and friend) and he said Gulf Winds is just a lighter shade than the green in the wallpaper. "But I wanted a nice blue green." (Said sorrowfully.) He said it would probably come out blue green. In any event - I made a decision and I think it will be fine.

That is exactly what I did - I turned the pillow over and plumped it. :)

Calm and light - I think so, too. Have you found those online tools that let you select a room (in my case bathroom) and click your color into it? I thought that was great fun.

Meredith -

You've probably been to Figo - they are known for their friendliness. The lady at the counter smiled when I came in and asked me to remind her of my name - she said, I remember your smile though. :) I'd rather my smile be remembered than my name, any day.

Oh I'll bet handling divorces was tough - you don't practice that kind of law anymore? Someone who would inflict that kind of painting pain on a spouse has issues anyway!

I really liked the one called Dragonfly. But it just looked so dark when I got it home. Loved that name.

Maybe I'll post a photo of the bathroom when we are done with it. I like the sea-themed colors, too. (I hope.) :)

Gulf winds certainly sounds good Lynn! It's a very pretty shade of blue for certain. I chose paint colors for every room of the house we are in. They all look absolutely terrific, however, I had 'second thoughts' in almost every room! The one room i love the MOST~ my son & husband were like~ are you SURE you actually want this color??! It looks awfully bright! Now~ they all agree it's the best room in the house! Had to "stick to my guns" on THAT one (which I have learned to do!)

Picking a paint color has never been easy for me. Sometimes when I go to those tours of homes and they give out the info of paint color, etc., I'll keep careful notes. And I was so chagrined the other day when I couldn't find my note on the blue/green color from one house. But this one is good, too. That's great that you have a lively color palette in your home.

Ooh - it was yummy, too. And there was focaccia bread to go with it. YUM. :)

Lynn,
Those nights of waking up....and realizing it's not time yet...I love those!!!!

And - good luck with the bathroom. I think the color looks really nice - although, I know - it's hard to really tell until the whole room is done. Anyway, keep smiling (and it sounds like you do that a LOT!!!).

I think choosing shades off those samples is pretty tough! On my machine it looks like the papers flower stem color! Hope all is going well with the change of home scenery!
That sounds like terrific ravioli. Never had anything like it-
Good that you get ample sleep! My neighbors relentlessly wake me up unless they aren't home.

I imagine you smiling all the time, too. It sure makes sailing through life better, doesn't it?

Snaggle -

It doesn't seem as if I'll ever catch up on sleep. I'm sorry your sleep is interrupted so much by those neighbors.

The color turned out very bright, but I think I like it. It is kind of a departure from the colors in the rest of the place.

Hveing never seen your lovely smile, I still vouch that it's a memorable one.

Yes - I posted a photo of it on Friday's post. It has grown on me - at first it seemed a little designery, but now I love it. :)
