Art lovers, resisting the urge and in the valley

- Snapping a shot of these kids, lined up to see the very cool First Emperor exhibit at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

- Resisting the urge to lecture employees not in charge anyway, for putting my 6" pizza in a styrofoam container. But the pizza was yummy, with feta cheese and tons of shredded onions and green peppers.

- So moved by the a cappella voices of a youth chorus at church service, sounding like angels, as they sang "Down in the Valley to Pray."

That pizza does sound good. I'm not sure about the feta cheese, but it does sound good.

I'm sure the melted styrofoam didn't detract from the taste one bit.

Hey G. Styrofoam so annoys me. Yep - the "Greek" pizza from Athens Pizza was good. The owners originally opened their first pizza place in Putnam, Connecticut. Ever heard of it? http://www.athenspizzaatlanta.com/aboutus1.html

I don't think so.

I don't get up to the northeastern part of the state anymore, which is kind of a bad thing on my part.

I've read a lot of good restaurant reviews from places up that way that I can never seem to find the time to investigate.

However, I can appreciate good Greek pizza. There used to be a very good one where I live that I used to love as a kid and more so as an adult. In my opinion, it got bad only when they sold it to someone else and they tweaked the pizza. Somehow, it just didn't taste right.

There is a fairly large Greek community here in Atlanta and these folks are right in the middle of it all. I don't know how they found their way here, but glad they did.

Yes - it is really beautiful. I used to be a member before tough economic times set in. :) It was used in a 1986 film called Manhunter as a solitary prison for Hannibal Lector in the first film about him. (Silence of the Lambs was the second and with a more famous actor.)
