Bursting, happy for her and home cooking

- My city that is bursting with greenness.

- My sister Jo's husband has surprised her with an upcoming Alaskan cruise to celebrate a milestone anniversary. She does so much for others that she deserves this special treat. A couple of years ago she was with me for surgery that happened to be scheduled on her anniversary date. I protested about her coming because of the day, saying I would be fine with friends being with me, but she kindly and firmly insisted. She is the best sister ever.

- An old-fashioned homemade biscuit with sausage gravy provided by a co-worker who brought them in. I had already had oatmeal for breakfast, but decided to eat it anyway since it was specially made with loving hands.

I've heard a lot about that sausage gravy biscuit thing.

Sounds like something I'll have make an attempt at cooking someday, only to see what all the hubbub is about.

I could feel my arteries clogging while I ate it. :) But it was pretty darn good.

holy cow, was it fat-free cream in that gravy?/

your lovely town looks quite a lot like ours.

No - and there is a trend I should stay away from. :)

I have never been to Austin. Isn't there some kind of great riverwalk there?

Well, the really famous River Walk is in San Antonio, but we do have one gorgeous hike 'n bike trail, right along our river. And boy did I avail myself of it this morning.

What made me see the resemblance to Austin is a picture like this...

kinda similar, eh?

Wow - that is gorgeous. You are right - I was thinking of San Antonio's river walk.

The water shown in my photo is the pond / lake at Piedmont Park. But it does have a similar look. All beautiful - love the waterfront anywhere.
