Medusa in the city, nice stuff and violation

Photograph by Vernon M.

- A view of midtown Atlanta seen from the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The glass Medusa-like sculpture is by Dale Chihuly. This was taken during one of those cocktails in the garden tours where the fresh spring air was as lovely as the view.

- Riot Kitty's blog post about Nice Stuff that happened to her lately, leaving me with a decided warm and sunny feeling.

- Having dinner and a catch-up with friend Leisa and the blue cheese slathered burger I have been wanting. And then realizing later I violated my Meatless Monday pledge. So I'll do it today - the meatless thing - and actually do that most days anyway. Cheers!

I love that photo! Beautiful. Did you take it?

R Kitty made me smile too. :)

Joe -

I should have given photo credit - it was taken by my friend Vernon M. He is a dear friend and colleague I used to meet with in that tall building on the right.

I was delighted by her post. :)

I may well add that photo, giving credit to your friend of course, on my other blog Coolness Captured.

My computers are going on holiday for a few days, but when they return I'll do it then. :)

Is that ok?

Lovely shot. Vernon has a great eye!

It's nice to celebrate good things!

The burger sounds delicious. As you say, it's not like you eat meat that often so it's nice to splurge once in a while. :)

Oh, my goodness, Lynn, we may have seen each other at Cocktails in the Garden! I was definitely there for one of them during the Chihuly exhibit. :) But I didn't get any photos at all -- and certainly nothing as spectacular as this!

Ah, the skyline. You wouldn't think a nature-lovin' girl like me would miss it, but I do.

I'd violate meatless pledges for a Blue-Cheese burger, I'm afraid. Good for you for getting right back on track!

Yes Riot Kitty put us all in shock today:)

Love the photo. Love the sculpture.

Maybe you and RK both should refer to your Tuesday posts on Marla's Always Nesting Woo Hoo Wednesday.

Meatless Monday sounds like quite the experience. I wonder if we could get by around here with that kind of menu. Sounds healthy!

The Chihuly sculpture is cool. We have one too in downtown Salt Lake, and it's amazing.

Funky photo.

Reminds me of the ginormous (some five hundred feet) blown glass sculpture at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis I saw on my vacation back in '08.

Joe -

I am sure it would be OK, but I had better ask him. You can email me at maxwell.lynn(at)gmail.com if you like, when you get back.

Talon -

He does and I am so glad that RK celebrated nice stuff. I loved that.

That burger was pretty tasty, too.

Meredith -

Wasn't that a fabulous exhibit? My friend Barb and I went to it. So interesting to think we might have been at the same event. I love to go to those things at the gardens - the GSU alumni group often has things there that I go to.

That part of Piedmont Park has such a wonderful feel, doesn't it? I'll bet you do miss it - I would, too.

That was a head smacking moment - but I had already done it. And of course no one will ever know. :)

Annie -

Every day is kind of Woo Hoo for me. :) At least I try to make it so.

Bharat -

Thank you and I am intrigued by the paranormal Rajasthan and will be visiting shortly.

Hey friend! It is good to see you here. Thank you - I will tell Vernon and the burger was so good. And there were homemade potato chips and a cosmopolitan. Big calorie evening there. :)

Jewel -

Meatless Monday is an online movement that asked that everyone eat no meat on Monday - there are major health benefits to that apparently.

Someday I'd like to see the Chihuly sculptures at the Bellaggio in Las Vegas.

G -

I wonder if that one is by Chihuly? He is quite the character.

Great pic with the hi-rises in the BG. Is that lit up?
I'll have to see if riot kitty crashes me again...
Can always use an uplift!
Woops- who can resist cheezeburgers? I cheated n ate pork sausages the other day- still doing breakfast for dinner until I get to shop again...

Riot Kitty -

Frame away, my friend!

Snaggle -

Yes - that glass creation is lit within a fountain. Isn't it lovely?

That's a wonderful shot and you've described it perfectly. Certainly is a Medusa-like sculpture.

Poor me, never heard of a Blue-Cheese burger. Must be really yum by the amount of discussion it generated.:)

Cheers!!

Shyamanga -

Thank you! I imagine you wouldn't eat beef in India, but someday you have to try blue cheese (or bleu cheese) if you haven't had it. It is so good.

That is a gorgeous piece of art! reminds me I'm due to take Kelly to our lovely Umlauf Sculpture Gardens.

Riot Kitty's post sounds too good to be true -- I will check it out later today.

Hmn, I haven't gotten on the Meatless Monday plan yet. But I'm trying a Wineless Wednesday. :)

Silly Jannie

Jannie -

You and Kelly have so much fun, sounds like. :)

Wineless Wednesday. Hmmm. I don't know - usually church dinner on Wednesday leaves me wanting a glass of red later. :)
