The pollen, down came the rain and the long way

- The Pollen - captured on the top of my car yesterday morning at 6:45am while pumping gas. If you haven't been around it, this is just an indicator of what the sneezing is all about in the south.

- Down came the rain and washed the pollen out. For once, no one was unhappy about the rain. There were yellow puddles and little rivers of yellow running down the driveway at work. And then the rain stopped and the pollen came right back. Sigh.

- The end result is so worth it though - the trees are madly leafing out. The best thing - taking the long way home yesterday and enjoying the green.

...Happy weekend, y'all!

6:45! What an early start to your day! Is that on the way to work or someplace else fun?

Yes, rain and spring brings good things!

Jewel -

On the way to work. I get up a little before 5am, write my blog and drink coffee, and try to be out of the door by 6:30am, for arrival around 7am to work. I like the quiet hour from 7 to 8am before the day gets hectic.

That is a crazy amount of pollen! I've never seen it so thick. So I'll just say the biggest "Gesundheit!" I can. lol!

Thank you for the good health wishes. :) The pollen count is posted in the newspaper each day and is the subject of much discussion. Yesterday it was almost 6000 particles of pollen per cubic inch of air. Today - much lower at 1941.

What a great work routine. I love getting up early too especially in the summer, when it's light outside.

6000! No wonder even I started sneezing, Lynn. Bless you! (I can hear you sneeze way over here, poor thing.)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too, and that the rains continue to come periodically to make it all bearable. :)

Jewel -

I can't even really sleep in on Saturdays - I'm up with the sun.

Meredith -

Yes - we are blogging about the pollen this week. I saw on your blog that you don't much suffer from seasonal allergies, but, oh boy, I do. We are down to 1941 today. :)

The rain left the air lovely and cool and everything had a washed clean appearance. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Anil P -

The pollen will be with us all month. I usually hose my place down on the outside the first weekend of May.

Pollen - oh, don't I know it. I'm in hayfever hell! Oh well. Better than snow.

Riot Kitty!

I'll say! Oh wait - I like snow. :) Yeah - I just got the big bottle of generic Claritin at the HMO drugstore today.

It is even worse today. I hope you don't have to contend with it.

I took the long way again yesterday - it caps off the day. And I stopped to gaze at some blooming crabapple trees. Lovely.

It is - it seems so much worse than last year.

That is amazing. So there is some mowing in your future?

I've been hearing about that pollen and feeling its effects here in Miami for about two weeks now. I finally went to bed without nose spray last night and I'm feeling better this morning.

Yes, there's nothing like the beauty of Spring when all is green and decorated with flowers.

Happy Spring, Lynn!!

I know - just about everyone in the south has posted about it. :) Couldn't resist!

I hope to visit Miami one day - I saw it from the air and changed planes at the airport and that was it for my Miami visit. I was on my way to Cancun.

Thanks for coming by - I enjoy your blog.
