Magic, neighbors and empty

- A little spoiled from having a three-day weekend the week before, I wish I could wave my magic wand and give myself another day today. Just kidding - it's all good. Happy to be employed and off to work on a Monday morning. :)

- A lovely Saturday morning on my back porch drinking coffee and enjoying the cardinal couple hanging around in the trees. They seem disconcerted by my presence on one of their landing spots.

- Finally getting caught up on laundry, down to the dregs of the basket that never quite gets emptied.

Yeah, it feels good to get all of that special-needs I'll-do-that-stuff-later stuff out of the hamper!

Lynn, I hope that, if you were going to drink coffee in their landing spot, that you at least offered Mr and Mrs Cardinal some! ;-)

Wave a wand for a day or two
But still work is good for you
A good old back porch coffee break
But not from the cardinals take
And the laundry won’t go down
As it seems to go round and round

Fireblossom -

This is an indicator of how quiet my weekend was - posting about laundry. :) But you are right - I got the special needs stuff done. It feels so good to go in the laundry room now. :)

Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal got no coffee, but they did keep moving from tree to tree watching me.

Thank you for my poem - I like it! I wave my wand at you to have a great day! :)

Done! Let me know if it worked! :)

Lance -

I miss it already. :)

Talon -

Yes - it is just for having good days, etc. :)

Sounds like a great Sat. morning!

I agree about the laundry hamper. I think it grows clothes.

I love Ellis' comments in poetry. They are so clever!!!

I want it be chilly so I can sit and have coffee on my porch and watch the birds. Instead, I watch from my window...but I can tell, they know the season is about to change.

That magic wand is waiting...perhaps you can wave it sometime soon for an extra day.

Relaxing on quiet afternoon in the backyard, where the only sound you get is non-human.

Life don't much better than that, don't it?

Happy to be employed is right! I'm with you and enjoying my Monday knowing Tuesday is coming up soon...then the weekend is right around the corner!

I miss the morning coffee at the dining room table looking out at the iguanas, parrots and red cardinals. I must find that quiet time again soon!

Riot Kitty -

It was - my favorite kind. :)

I hope you get some cooler weather soon. My sister lives in the Florida panhandle and reports just "a hint" of fall in the air.

And yes - Ellis's poems are so neat. :)

G -

I agree!

Wow - that sounds like such colorful back yard time!

I'd love to have alot more paid time off myself- but knowing me, I'd use it to get other work done!
Those Cardinals are too spoiled Cause you're not out there every day- You're not alone never getting all the laundry done- If Mine isin't carefully dust-proof stored, it all has to be washed before wearing again if it sits more than 2 weeks- Dust mite allergy prevention means alot of wash time!

Jannie -

Shorts that didn't fit quite right, a bath mat that is a pain to wash, an extra mattress pad, stray socks. They all got washed. The shorts will go to Goodwill.

I can see them out the window from my perch on the sofa - I love how they've adopted the trees outside my place.
