- These big beauties came from the warehouse club store and I couldn't resist buying them. They smell and taste so good and are just the ticket for chasing away the doldrums of winter.
- Calling a friend on an impulse. She is out of work and says she is floundering; I needed inspiration to make sales calls. The phone call worked out for both of us - she said it brightened her day and her bright voice gave me the energy to reach out to voices on the telephone.
- Another impulse call last week to friends Barbara and Norman, a very active elderly couple who have sort of adopted me. They were leaving in a few minutes for a flight to Chile, where they would board a cruise ship for a sail around South America. I have loved thinking about the special time they are having and look forward to the postcard I will get in the mail.

Yes, they are delicious, but...nothing rhymes with orange! ;-)
(orange you glad I pointed that out?
Glad that you managed to brighten up the day for your friend and shein turn helped you to make more sales calls! That's never easy, I remember doing that when I ran my graphic design business.
door hinge! I've seen orange rhymed with door hinge. :)
But WHAT!? Barb and Norm didn't stow you away in a suitcase?!
Ahhhh, to even think of a cruise today seems like another world. If not another planet. :)
xoxo
I love when an impulsive phone call makes a world of difference.
And those oranges look good! They just scream, "Healthy!"
Those oranges look perfect!

lol! I wish I could think of a good pun to come back with. :)
So I guess we'll see what Ellis comes up with as a rhyme for Orange. But (hint) the Oxford English Dictionary gives us "sporange, a very rare alternative form of sporangium (a botanical term for a part of a fern or similar plant)."
I think they made that word up, but that's just me. :)

I don't think selling is my particular gift, but I try. :)

Ahhh - door hinge. There's also foreign, boring, forage, porridge, score bench, Mormon, chorus, swordfish.
OK those sort of rhyme, but not really. Not like sporange.
Barb and Norm sure have lots of fun - I'm sure I told you about her. She celebrated her 70th birthday, by bungi jumping off the Great Wall of China.

I've begun to call people when they flit through my head - I always imagine there is a reason.

They are pretty good - I have one here on my desk right now.
I am not much of a phone person, but every once in a while I'm part of a phone call that makes my day and I always think "I must do this more often."
From the warehouse club
they came
They looked and smelled
all the same
They took the doldrums from
the winter that remain
A two way call to one who
Was in pain
It brightened our day and helped
Her from going insane
Friends sail around South America
For memories, they hope to gain
I’m hoping for postcards for me
On which they will rain
I want to go to South America!
Sparkling Red -
I imagine you make people's day all the time.
Ellis -
I like that part about not going insane. :) Thank you for my poem!

Me, too. :)
Those oranges look luscious.
Isn't it odd how we sometime reach out to a friend at just the right moment?
How old are your "elderly" friends. I cant help but wonder if some of our friends refer to us as their "elderly friends". And here I still feel 13:)
Granny Annie -
Perhaps I shouldn't have used that word, because they don't act elderly. I guess I was just showing that they are enough elder to me to be surrogate parents. They are close to or just about 80 years old.
I never made it to this post during my power outages- Catching up now. Those oaranges look too good to eat- I want soms...
I love getting calls from old friends- but am rarely home n awake to answer. Hate phone sales!
Hope you're adoptive family has a safe trip! Sounds like a great adventure.
Snaggle -
Can you get on the do not call list for your state? I don't get sales calls anymore - at home anyway. :)
