It snowed all night, wonderland and pinch me

Photo by Jerry Tirado - "three inches so far" taken around midnight

- My camera battery needed charging (of course) so perhaps I will be able to post my own photos of the snow in north Georgia tomorrow. Friend Jerry is more of a night owl than me and posted this one on facebook after midnight.

- Waking up to what sounded like rain hitting the windows, but it is sleet that is packing in the snow that fell all night. Opening the front door at 4:45am to a winter wonderland.

- We were warned of this snow and ice system approaching Georgia on Friday and decided to close the printing company today and possibly tomorrow. This means I get to read, watch movies and cook today. Somebody pinch me. :)

Lordy. I heard on the news last night that Atlanta was expecting half a foot of snow and about fell out of my chair. I naturally though of you right away. What is going on with the weather? It seems like the south keeps getting this weird winter weather. Usually not six inches of snow, though! Enjoy your extra day off, Lynn!

Enjoy the snow--it seems that Atlanta is getting more of it than those of us up north.

A blanket of white
seen all around
In an era yellow light
no sun to be found

Sleet pecking
at my window sill
At four in the morning
they told me it fell

No work will I do
my job is shut down
I’m staying at home
and just putting around

I don't know - it was boiling hot from March to October and then switched to 20 degrees. Crazy. I'm enjoying the heck out of it though. :)

Sage -

That's what a I hear.

No school today here either. No - we're closed today and probably tomorrow, too. I did think about you and your beautiful snow pics.

Talon -

I'm pretty much playing Mahjong and watching Channel 11 - they keep showing trucks stuck in the snow, etc. which makes me happy to be home. :)

Ellis -

I am checking my work email - but not obsessively. Thank you for my poem. :)

I guess snow would be a wonderful thing if you normally don't get any where you live.

However, in my state, snow isn't such a wonderful thing.

But hope you are staying safe and enjoying it just the same.

:D

Me, too. :)

Jannie -

He did take a nice picture - there were tons of others from other friends on facebook today.

G -

It is exciting to us because we don't get much snow. :)

I'd heard Atlanta was getting nailed- Sounds like a great vacation- that is, if you don't have to shovel n drive in it- like I usually have to!
Hope your Camera is back in action before it all melts-

We're expecting the same storm Weds pm here.
Enjoy your forced home time!

Riot Kitty -

I am enjoying it to a point. There are things that need doing, but hopefully I can get out tomorrow sometime.

Snaggle -

We just aren't equipped for it here - I don't even have a shovel of any description to shovel out, although that is probably what it will take. I'm hoping the temperature rises above freezing today so the ice melts a bit.

The low battery added to the romance of the photograph. I love it.
