- My favorite Foo Fighter and a pretty good chick singer salute my favorite Beatle. I saw this on the Kennedy Center Honors Paul McCartney and thought it was fantastic. I've always loved that song and keep coming back to watch this video over and over.
- Arriving home after work in time to hear neighbor Corbin practicing the bagpipes and since it is not too cold out, leaving my front door cracked open for a bit so I can listen.
- The last really quiet commute on Monday. The vacationers and holidayers will be back today. It's all good.

My mother in law hates the bagpipes but I think if they are played well they can sound ok.
Things aren't quite back to normal here in the UK yet. My younger daughter returns to school tomorrow, and I have to say I can't wait! It's been a long break this Christmas!
How cool is that, bagpipes in the neighborhood!
And - I love the song, too... Sweet, sweet music.
Bagpipes reminds me of the only song one can hear on commercial radio that contains that musical instrument.
AC/DC's "It's a long way to the top if you want to rock & roll".
A bag full of air
played notes sweet
you left your door open
as if them to greet
They‘ll be back
After taking off to play
All those that left
For those holidays
To him was given honors
And a singers salute
Paul McCartney, yes woman
thought he was cute
"Maybe I'm Amazed" is such a great love song. One of the best ever, imho.
I love bagpipe music, too. :-)

I do love the pipes - reminds me of the mother country. :)

Corbin is blind and autistic, which makes it all the more amazing that he plays like he does. A wonderful young man.

I am totally finding that song on YouTube when I'm at home. Or maybe at lunchtime here.

That was a perfect wrap up poem. Thank you!

I think so, too!
I wouldn't want to listen to bagpipes all day but I have some bagpipe tunes on my iPod and really enjoy listening to them. The video is great, it was fun to see people moving their heads and truly listening to the music and singing.
I love love love Nora Jones so that video was an extra treat for me.
We have fresh-fallen snow to add a nice touch for everyone's return to their regular routine. It sure does look pretty though!
I love that song.
Hearing the bagpipes from your front door; that's cool.
She is a lovely singer.
TechnoBabe -
I know - especially seeing Paul McCartney so immersed in listening was neat.
Talon -
I'm glad you liked it. Ah snow - I'll bet it is beautiful.

Me, too!

It is neat - he is a neat kid. And yes - this makes me want to get out my Norah Jones CDs.
I was thinking of Maybe I'm Amazed just the other day. One of the best love songs I know. I also like The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, and All The Way (Sinatra) as love songs.
Ooo, is Corbin good? Getting good?
We left at 7:07 today, earlier than we'd been schlepping into before the holidays ('bout 7;35 then)and the traffic was blissfully slight today. I hope to keep up our newfound earliness zest! :)
xoxo
Sounds like Joey is ready for the break I got today! :)
And I'm with Shay on the pipes, but with Technobabe on the maybe not "all day listening." :)
xo
I love that song...I'll check out the video.
Lynn,
Thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed listening to it. I agree about Paul -- he was always my favorite, too.
I love that your neighbor plays the bagpipes and that you crack your door to listen.
I'm glad you got one more quiet commute into work. I imagine in your city, it is difficult to find those quiet times.
Happy, Happy New Year:~)
What a beautiful version of that song. Love the lyrics to most Beatles songs.
Live bagpipes?? You lucky, lucky girl!
Keep enjoying the sights and sounds of your neighborhood, my friend and have a great evening!
I'm thinking that it's good that you have a choice whether or not to listen to the bagpipes. If you couldn't shut the door to block them out when you weren't in the mood... yeeeesh! I think this way from years of living in an apartment with paper-thin walls. I could hear my next-door neighbour sneeze.

Hi there. Yes - he's good. He's won some competitions.
xo
RK -
I love it, too.
Sara -
I'll say it is hard. But not impossible. :)

The sights and sounds of my neighborhood - good indeed. :)
SR -
Yes - I can hear sneezing, too. I live in a condo. Fortunately we are all tolerant of the bagpipe playing and some of us love it. :)
Love Paul n saw him in concert 10 yrs ago. Can't watch the video here.
Free bagpipe concerts are fun. There's a guy out there sometimes on nice Sundays near work playing, haven't seen him yet. Is this the same neighbor as the piano player? Truelly amazing to have so much talent despite disabilities.
Good luck not getting fed up with the traffic again!
I like a quiet ride- it's been busy all week at drive home time for early a.m. here.
Snaggle -
No - the piano player is an elderly man who still works most days. I love to hear him play, too. Thanks for remembering!
