- Visiting my mother this weekend in her charming new town of Thomasville, Georgia. I must be destined to be affiliated with towns that end in "ville." :)
- This small town has a busy downtown with all the store fronts full. Antique shops, specialty shops, even a local dairy selling their cheese. I make a quick trip downtown to find a plate hanger and find just the friendly shopkeeper to help with that. Now I know how to drive to two areas.
- The streets still have the original brick paving. A peaceful, relaxing couple of days in a sleepy, but progressive town.

It seems like a nice little place!
For a very brief second there, I thought I was in downtown historic Litchfield CT.
Very cool pics.
You never know you live in a charming and historical town until company comes and marvels in the daily sights you take for granted.
Ville this Ville that
All towns seem to say
This one has a full downtown
As all the friendly shopkeeper’s wave
The streets are brick
In the Ville of which I’d stayed.
Thomasville looks like the quintessential American town. It's lovely!
Morning Lynn. What a truly sweet little downtown. I love small towns like that (and we've seen allot of them in N.C. too)I always 'make' my husband go through the downtown area when we are passing by small towns for that reason also!
Have a great day Miss Lynn~

Very Southern, very laid-back.

It's true - you are right.

I'm glad you worked that Ville thing into your poem. :) Thank you for it!

It really is like that. And I read today that it is on some list of the top 10 places to retire in country. A little hot in the summer, but OK...

Thank you for that morning greeting - how nice. And I imagine we are kindred spirits in that we like small towns. There is always something to love about each place.

Me, too and I hadn't notice that before.
A sleepy but progressive town. I'd love to feel its charm. Great photos, chica!!
That does look like a charming town. Nice pics! I particularly like the one of the clock.

It has surprisingly good shopping, too - everything from the perfect LBD to duck hunting gear. :)

Thank you - I like that Thomasville clock, too.
So quaint.
Lynnville would be a great name for a town.

hmmm... I grew up in a vill, n now live in a village without a "ville". Hope all is going well for your mom. Looks warm there at least. Can be hard getting bearings on new shopping digs. Nice cobblestones- we still have cobblestone sidewalks on the larger streets. Sometimes they're hard to walk on- get the heels sore. Lso, tough to shovel.
Looks like a nice spot there-

Oh - the thought of having a town named after me just boggles the mind. I like the sound of Jannieville better. :)

It is a nice place - mom likes it well enough and she is living close to my younger sister, so it is working out well. I feel a pang for Milledgeville though. :)
Lynn,
How embarrassing! I've been reading your selected posts from the 7x7 Award and found this. I can't believe I didn't comment. You're adopted home is just down the road from me and it is a lovely town:~)
