Winter scene, films with yelling and well-rested

- It looks a bit more beaten up and slushy now from this scene on Monday afternoon. My neighbor poured some of that ice melt stuff on the sidewalk to make it easier for her to walk her dog in and out. We have a fair amount of young children living in the condos and they have enjoyed playing in the snow.

- Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Oh my - the yelling! I watched it over the course of two days. I can't imagine why Paul Newman wouldn't have gotten an Oscar for his performance. Today - A Streetcar Named Desire, which promises a bit more yelling. :)

- Having the time to make food has been fun. I guess the difference is - having the time, and feeling so well-rested while doing it. Yesterday - it was hummus. Yum.

Atlanta isn't supposed to have snow. It just isn't right.

Cooking is so much more fun when you're not in a hurry.

I'm not sure I ever saw Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. I saw most of Fiddler On The Roof, have to finish that one some day, it was really great, awesome songs. Tradition!

So you're still home, eh? Enjoy the respite. Ansd the leisurely cooking.

I think adults need the snow days as much as kids do - it's good to have unplanned for time that just evolves into doing the things you love without any worry about time at all. Well, we could have them without snow - that would be the ultimate :)

Lynn~ You are at home again today? (Thursday) Good Things Happened: ...an example for you! I hurt my shoulder a bit ago and as a result my usual shoveling has been shelved...(with mu husband and teenage daughter having to keep up with it and its been too much!)...today our neighbor drove up to us with his big green tractor and plowed out our driveway whilst my husband was gone! How cool is that?

FB -

They showed on the news last night that all states in the lower 48 in the US have snow except for Florida. How about that?

So true - I love having something to stir all day.

You are so funny. I love that film of Fiddler on the Roof. It's fabulous.

And still at home. It is like a little confined vacation. :)

I'm loving the varied quality of my day - it's been fun for sure.

I'm sorry you hurt your shoulder, but love that you gave me a Good Thing in comments. How lovely of your neighbor - that is what being a good neighbor is all about.

Yes - still home. :)

I agree: cooking is best done when you're not rushed. Although after a busy day, I find something uniquely comforting about chopping fresh vegetables, even if I can't devote a lot of time to cooking.

Aren't snow days fun? You sound so up:~) I can tell you're having a great time.

I could never watch Cat on A Hot Tin Roof because of the yelling. It was like "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." That was a tough movie to watch.

So glad your enjoying the cooking. I love hummus. I will often have a hummus and Greek olive sandwich. Sometimes I mix in a little bit of cheese. It's really good:~)

I need a snow day so I can try out my pasta maker! :)

Love Paul Newman...but haven't seen Cat on a Hot Tin Roof yet. Can you believe it??

I need to stock up on the classics.

Keep warm and enjoy your movies!!

I was about to lose my mind with cabin fever - the novelty wore off sometime yesterday, so I am back at work today.

Sara -

I did enjoy it, but I missed being with people and needed some sunshine. It was slippery drive in, but I made it safely. Yay!

Lulu -

These films were just recorded from Turner Classic Movies - there are no commercials, so it is great.

Ellis -

I like that peas in a pod part. :)

I know other people who don't like to cook, so I understand. I don't like day to day routine cooking, but I love making special things.

And I don't like to bake. Cookies, cakes, whatever - I don't like to do that. Probably a good thing. :)

Snaggle -

We are pretty busy today although the phones aren't ringing much.
