Optimism, winner and easy

- This sign in a mountain shop made me think of the hygienist at my dentist's office. She has similar signs in her workspace, including one that says, "Bring me the chocolate and no one gets hurt!" :)

- The emotion displayed by Iker Casillas, the goalkeeper and captain for Spain's World Cup team, as he talked about the win. I wasn't pulling for either team, but did enjoy watching when I could.

- Listening to a discussion of grandchildren before a meeting, one is a new grandmother and the other is seasoned and had an amusing story: her three-year-old grandson was a little over zealous in his excitement over handling the new baby. "Easy there!" they said, or "Easy, OK?" Later he came to her and said, "Shhhh, Grandma, Easy is sleeping."

Chocolate and a wardrobe
Now that's a cleaners dream
The Spain's captain kissed her
His girlfriend on national T.V.
and her brother named his sister
When he tells her boyfriends she is Easy
I bet you could hear her scream

Chocolate is ideal in all situations. That's my motto!

Funny - yes, hopefully the Easy nickname won't stick. :) lol

And I was a little behind on the World Cup stuff - got caught up last night.

Shay -

I agree. I love chocolate so...

Looks like I'm not the only one with concern that "easy" will stick as a nickname. Hope not.

My nickname should be chocolate because I'm sure it is part of my body composition by now.

Truth? I'm a chocoholic. I can't go a day without at least a nibble of some dark chocolate.

Congrats to Spain!

lol @ the "easy"!

What is this "World Cup" thou speakesth of? ;)

Now, chocolate... I KNOW what chocolate is, and the darker the better! Mmm...

Please excuse me while I go and look for some... :P

Ah, Casillas. Yes, his emotions were powerfully on display -- although having rooted for The Netherlands, I was more riveted to their disappointment -- which they generally were able to tamp down manfully, with some exceptions. It was a fantastic game, so exciting. F. and I watched from a local Mexican restaurant where everyone was pro-Spain but me, hehe. ;)

F. is a chocolate fanatic. He did something really nice for our new neighbors recently, and the wife came to me in secret to ask what he likes. I told her "Southern food and chocolate." They gave him a huge gift bag full of all kinds of chocolate, and he is one happy man.

Can you imagine living before the invention of chocolate? Or back in Jane Austen's day when no one had figured out the stuff needed sugar to become divine? Their hot chocolate was just cups of hot bitter bitterness.

Love the chocolate sign and the one about no one getting hurt. I should have one like that about red wine! lol

¡Que viva España!

Easy is sleeping, how sweet. Ahh, the percius things they do say.

Umn, chocolate will most likely be on my to-enjoy list for later today!

I did not follow the World Cup, but even my German raving soccer fan said they deserved to win. :)

I can take or leave chocolate, and football, but not your blog!

It's always a joy to read your uplifting posts. :)

That sign is hilarious!

Granny Annie -

Me, too - I haven't met any chocolate I didn't like (so far.)

Talon -

I sort of watched the World Cup, but didn't really get into it too much. Mr C's had a big party every time it was on.

Tony -

I hope you found some. I LOVE dark chocolate - especially with a bit of red wine. Yum.

Meredith -

F. sounds like a man who would do nice things for neighbors and I'm so glad they did something nice for him in return.

Oh my - I hadn't thought of that - chocolate with no sugar. Yikes.

Ily -

I'm with you on all that. :)

Jannie -

I hope you fulfilled your to-do list. :)

Joe -

That is the most absolutely nicest thing I heard all day. Thank you, my friend.

Riot Kitty -

I thought so, too. :)

If only that were true about all chocolate, like my summer fave, chocolate ice cream... I didn't watch any world cup soccer, except the news about the bombing the other day- horrible to attack innocents.
EZ could be worked in as a cool nickname!

Mama Zen -

It made me laugh, so I thought it deserved a post. :)

My favorite ice cream is vanilla with Hershey's syrup on top - effectively making it chocolate ice cream, I guess. I always have Hershey's syrup in my fridge.
