Beautiful nibble, beyond sweet and message

Photo by a niece or her friend :)

- Facebook is so great for keeping up with nieces around the country (and abroad sometimes) - in this case, my niece in Portland, Oregon was at a party with some friends and this photo made it into the mix. I love that they combined grapes and tomatoes onto a beautiful plate as a nibble.

- Message from same niece yesterday, referring to a birthday call from last February, made to her when I was visiting my mom: i have the birthday message from you and nana saved on my phone. whenever my voice mail prompts me to erase or save again, i can't get myself to erase... i just love hearing your voices. ...Now that's beyond sweet.

- Another loving message: two of my friends have been domestic partners for 21 years. One packs the other's lunch every day and always includes a boiled egg with a message written on the shell with a Sharpie. Most recent message: "If I could have one last dance with you, I'd play a song that would never end."

On a somber note, my mom has a last voice mail left by my dad permanently saved on her cell phone.

Whenever she gets an upgrade, she transfers the voice mail to that new phone.

Wow - I didn't even know you could do that. I have voice mail now, but used to have an answering machine that used little tapes and I kept them to listen to. Family singing happy birthday, etc.

Kenju -

Isn't that gorgeous? I think it must have been a table outdoors.

Who wouldn't want a cute bunny sailor like you????

I so like to hear when people have found their true love - and that egg message thing seems truly unique to me. How sweet is that?

If my Portland niece gets married any time soon - it will probably be there, so I'll be coming for that. We can get together and ogle Moonstruck chocolate then! :)

On which to nibble
Brought family together

A voice said hi

To tell a niece

Omg. This post just kept getting better. The grape and tomato arrangement is so cool, but then the thing about saving your message had me doing major awwwwwwws. Then the egg message was the topper. That's the coolest thing.

I'm wondering about those little yellow pear-shapes- never seen mini-pears! Now I want cherres!
I have cassette tapes full of old messages. My Sister always sings Happy Birthday on a message.
Folks who get daily notes are fortunate indeed! Smart dance choice for a marathon relationship!

No rats! I like this one just fine. Thank you as always for my poem. :)

Thank you - I liked this post, too. It was a low comment day so I wondered!

I don't see those pear tomatoes anymore - my grandpa used to grow them and when we walked the garden, we would eat them right there (he was an organic gardener.)
