Shimmering morning, gone in a blur and dad's hat

- A shimmering morning in the mountains, cool and no humidity - much of it spent feet up on the back porch. Midway through the morning, a lone hummingbird buzzes up and has a look at me and then is gone in a blur.

- There they go - a boy and his dog kayaking down the Hiawassee River. Taken through the screen of the back porch.

- I have adopted my dad's lawn mowing and fishing hat. I like having it with me - especially in a place that he loved as much as this.

That is so sweet abut your dad's hat. And a hummingbird has to be a good sign, doesn't it?

I quite often see hummingbirds in Az, and they really are beautiful.

Sweet that you have adopted your Dad's hat. :)

Very cool about the hat. I have my dad's old gardening hat sitting on top of my printer in my den that I wear from time to time when I'm writing.

And believe it or not, it does have that kind of magical power, because it does give me the ability to write coherant sentences. :D

I wish I was where you are...it sounds so nice and cool. It's 7:00 in the evening here and it's still about 88 degrees F.

I love hummingbirds. One recently got stuck in my garage, even though the windows and the garage door was open. I think he just wore himself out. I put some hummingbird food on the garage door. He found it, ate his fill, rested and then disappeared.

It touched me that you keep your dad's hat with you:~)

How sweet. I love that last pic and the other two are just gorgeous. Makes me want to be a country girl for a day. :)

No humidity? How did you manage that? Fabulous! Just like the hat :)

This is all just so beautiful, Lynn.

The first picture fits like the perfect dress. The second picture like the perfect pair of pants, and that last pic, like the perfect hat. I have a hat similar to that I love. That color fuscia of the sweater and bag is one of my faves to wear! Are those yours?

And if I were a hummingbird I'd want to have a close look at you too! "Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?"

Sounds like a very relaxing week-end- Love when hummingbirds do thatm but always wonder if they think nectar may be up our nostrils- Were you wearing red?
Wow, must be tough for a dog to trust his master in a boat!
Nifty that you adoptrf your dad's hat. I adopted some of Mine's big, double-pocketed shirts for keeping warm, but after 20 years they're wearing out.

Ellis -

We love hummingbirds in our family. And I chose the hummingbird "support wildlife" tag for my car.

It was so peaceful. Back to work today... :)

Fireblossom -

Thank you - I still miss him so much that I love having his hat around.

I like to think that was a good sign. :)

Thank you. It was odd that there was just that one that showed up.

Sure!

It was like a little dose of peace.

I love that idea. And nice that you have adopted your dad's hat, too.

Sara -

Thank you and I always wondered if hummingbirds take time to rest. That was so nice of you to get special food for it.

Ily -

You'd like it, I'll bet. :)

The humidity seems to be on the wane a bit thankfully - I just lucked up with the perfect weekend. It was 38 degrees on the back porch on Sunday morning.

Jannie -

Yes - those are my bag and hoodie - I love those colors, too.

xo

Snaggle -

I was wearing my purple pajamas when the bird spotted me. Maybe that was it. :)

When I "had my colors done" in my early 20s, (I'm a Summer,)my color friend said "THAT is your party color!" And I do like it. The Funsters actually all had berets that shade -- Funster Pink, I called it. Still have the beret, of course.
