- Farewell to summer. Someone needs to tell the weather department that it is officially autumn now. :)
- For the first time in almost 20 years, northern autumn began on the night of a full Moon. Wandering out to view the "Super Harvest Moon" - I can't really say I saw the predicted special glow of the moon, but I liked thinking of all my friends and family around the country (and beyond!) having a look at it, too.
- Another sign of autumn, from a friend on facebook (speaking of the Gwinnett County fair): FAIR!!! Rides, corn dogs, funnel cakes, games, oh my!

Summer is gone
But the heat is still around
The moon is special
But nothing new was found
The fair is here
In our little old town
Yes autumn is starting
Already to count down
I was out at midnight and the light of the moon was just magical- a gorgeous silvery blue. Welcome, Autumn! I'm thrilled to have you back :)
I cannot (yet) say "goodbye" to summer!

Lynn,
I totally agree. I want cooler temperatures and for my flowers to stop thinking they should be blooming.
I totally missed the moon last night and I'm not happy. I love Harvest Moon:~)
Fairs...I used to love corn dogs and cotton candy, but the Ferris Wheel always made me sick, especially if I ate before attempting to ride it:~)
Blue Bunny -
You were ferst! I was kind of late posting today, so that worked out for you.
Love you, too, BB. xoxo

I like it! Thank you for my poem!
Talon -
I welcome it, too. Lovely words.

Sounds like a song!

I hear you - my geraniums will probably bloom through December!
I always liked the fair, but not the ferris wheel either. Something about not feeling entirely secured.
It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love autumn and winter...when I can wear boots in Miami (maybe twice a month...woo hoo!). :)
I was here early this morning, but I guess I was TOO early!
I love that clock!
We've got a touch of fall in the morning air, but it's still 90 in the afternoon!
Why is it, even when I am TOTALLY FULL, your blog makes me hungry? :)
Now I want a funnel cake...and I have already had cake today!
"Weather, please get seasonal for Lynn!"
We've noticed some much cooler breezes n night temps up here.
The news also said that Jupiteris at it's closest orbit to Earth in a long time, (Where's my telescope to check out those 4 moons) n is located right next to the Super Harvest Moon!
Here we're having King Richards Faire on week-ends. We used to have a Harvest Moon Festival, but the town stopped paying for the police detail, so it's cancelled again. Lucky you! Enjoy your Fair!

Ah - boots! I do love to wear them, too. I'm still in open toed sandals. I used to work long distance with some people in Miami when I worked for BellSouth, and there was a "cold" snap once. She said she turned the heat on in her house and her children thought the house was on fire. :)

More too LATE on my part. I got my post up later than usual - you might have left for work already.
I was looking for a moon-like photo and thought my whimsical home-office clock would suffice as a model. :)
Mama Zen -
We have the early morning coolness, too. Although not so much yesterday. It is still in the 90s in the afternoons here, too.
RK -
I could go for a funnel cake, too. That does sound good!
Snaggle -
Is that one of those Renaissance fairs? I doubt I'll make it up to the county fair, but it sounds like glorious fun. :)
I also didn't see the predicted SUPER harvest moon.
Wendy -
I saw a bit of it after I published that post. See today's blog for fuzzy photo. :)
