Vegas angel, connecting and bearable

- Another in my collection of angels. A friend brought this one back from Las Vegas as a Christmas present. I just like that she is looking over my home office and her reminder of Peace.

- Spotting a deceased friend's children on facebook and "friending" them - they have scattered around the country and it is lovely to connect with them again. It's clear they have big personalities, like their mother.

- Having a meeting after a meeting in the parking lot - bearable now since the evening air has taken a decidedly cooler turn.

My eyes thought this read "Vegan" angel at first. :)

FB is amazing for finding peeps.

And am I really first here today? I've not been first here in a long while.

Um, Ms. Funster, FB is meeeeeeeee. Not Facebook. *scowls* (but your vegan thing made me laugh!)

Angels are always a good thing. I have a cookie dough angel right behind me as I type this. There is this lady who makes them. I have two.

I have no angels, apart from the one that sits on the top of our Christmas tree, but I know that angels look after me whether I can visually see them or not.

Vegas and angel don't automatically go together do they? :D

Vegas and angels - who knew? :) She's got a sweet expression.

It's wonderful to see the wonderful traits of our friends in their children...

What a pretty angel Lynn. I too, enjoy 'pulling out the angels' to decorate at the holidays.

It has taken a cooler turn here also; 50's during the night; 70's during the day (here.)Cool and lovely.

Jannie -

You are first today, my friend! Up early delivering your child to school?

My Vegas angel is surrounded by dust I see. I need to get the Swiffer out. :) It's funny how dust doesn't present itself to me until after I see the photo.

Fireblossom or FB :) -

lol lol! You are the true FB! My angel collection started back when it was a craze in the 90s, but I just like the interesting ones - not cutesy ones. I have a bit of a collection now.

Joe -

No - Vegas and angels don't automatically go together, but she does have a bit of glitz to her, huh?

I was delighted to spot MG and SG on facebook. She is a licensed mortician!!!! How about that? Their mom would have LOVED facebook.

This one is supposed to be a Christmas ornament, but I just leave it out all the time.

Your weather sounds like pure Heaven!

Sometimes, the parking lot meeting is the best way to get things done!

I love that your angel brings you peace. And that your friends' kids are now your friends, too. What a legacy.

I love that angel and the look of peace on her face.

I'm glad you were able to connect with your deceased friend's kids on the internet. How cool is that?? Almost as cool as the evening air. Enjoy it...while I sit here by the window admiring the rain.

Not sure I could quite bear the meeting after the meeting - unless maybe it involves gossip.

I bet it is nice to connect/reconnect in that way.

Love your Vegas angel - I guess we tend to pack up our angels after the holidays (if you do that kind of thing), but it's nice to have out as a reminder of peace.

The soldier in Las Vegas on R&R
Trying to forget it all
Saw an angel from a far
"Peace" she said softly
"Not for a while, I bet"
He replied
The angel looked up to the sky
And smiled
"You loose..."

A good reminder for peace. On my desk I have H.L. Mencken, a good reminder for ass-kicking...

Yep, that is a strange angel! I do like getting souveniers. My Mom used to travel to Catholic Daughter conventions all over each year. Have a fave T-shirt from Oregon I still wear. Fun catching up with old connections. I saw my Cousins grown kids last week online n barely recognize them- scatter they do!
Yay the heat has broken, n the air is pleasant for you again!

Mama Zen -

We are famous for those kinds of meetings. :)

Jewel -

That is a great legacy, I agree - their mother would have loved facebook.

Facebook has been great for keeping up with the various groups from different areas that I've been involved with - friends, BellSouth folks, high school classmates, etc. etc.

Ily -

Ah - the rain. That sounds lovely, too.

Ellis -

Thank you for my poem! Love it as always...

Wendy -

That angel was definitely meant as a Christmas ornament, but I kept it out because I like it. Yep - I do that kind of thing.

Holland -

What a great mini-story - I am so in awe of you for writing something like that about my wee angel. I'll associate that with her from now on.

Riot Kitty -

Now I'm curious what the Mencken quote is. :)

Snaggle -

Souvenirs are fun. I have numerous t-shirts, too, from places I've never been.

Oh my gosh, you have an angel collection??? I have been collecting angels for many years. Long ago I stopped decorating the Christmas tree with santas and switched to angels. The kids loved it. They are grown up now and have started their own traditions. I have carried on with angels. I would buy an angel at each place I traveled to and I enjoy the memory of that place when I get the angels out and unwrap them to hang on the Christmas tree each year. You too?
